Ronald Edward Shepherd, 67, of Hudson, passed away early Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a long period of declining health.
A resident of Hudson for most of his life, Ron was born in Nashua on August 17, 1949, son of Marcelle (Monet) Shepherd Sloan and the late Edward C. Shepherd. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Cheryl (Houle) Shepherd; and his step-mother, Dorothy C. (Holt) Shepherd. He was educated in Hudson schools and attended Alvirne High School. Ron had been employed as a fabricator in the fiberglass industry for several years. In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed hunting, target shooting and was a talented artist.
Members of his family include his mother, Marcelle Sloan of Connecticut; two sons and their wives, Todd and Amy Shepherd of Newark, NJ and Keith and Dawn Shepherd of Derry, NH; two grandchildren, Logan and Natalie Shepherd; two sisters and their husbands, Jean and Robert Deleon of Waterbury, CT and Linda and Frank Jarek of Hudson, NH; a brother and his wife, Michael and Kathy Sloan of Oakville, CT; step-brother and his wife, William and Martha Maxfield of Virginia; step-sister, Ruth Butler of Nashua; close friends, Bert Masse Sr. of Pelham and David Laughran of Vermont; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beatrice L. (Desclos) Soucy, 93, of Hudson and formerly of Nashua, passed away early Sunday morning, March 19, 2017 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson. Bea was the widow of Robert J. Soucy.
Mrs. Soucy was born in Nashua on November 15, 1923, daughter of the late Emile and Lillian (Lavoie) Desclos. She was a homemaker and also worked part time at the former Doehla Greeting Card Company, St. Joseph Hospital and Howard Johnson’s Restaurant & Motor Lodge all in Nashua.
Bea and her husband Bob were married in June of 1948 and made their home on Wason Avenue for many years. They shared 38 years together until Bob’s passing on October 11, 1986.
She was devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was an avid sports fan.
Members of her family include four children and their spouses, David A. and Diane Soucy of Nashua, Sylvia and Christopher Lennox of Henniker, Ann Marie and Richard Lafoe of Derby, VT and Joseph E. and Heather Soucy of Litchfield; eleven grandchildren, Kenya Plaza and her husband Aaron, Bianca Rivera and her husband Eduardo, Denae Soucy and her fiancé Jean Dumais, Erin Lennox and her husband, Justin Candeloro, Molly Lennox and Christopher Lennox, Jessica Bartlette and her husband Jason, Aaron Baker, Sarah Heimreid and her husband Tom, Travis Soucy and Timothy Soucy; ten great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Peggy Desclos of Monroe, NC; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Bea was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Kevin Baker.

Deborah J. “Deb” O’Loughlin

Deborah J. O’Loughlin, 65, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Litchfield, NH, passed away on March 16, 2017 at The Terraces in Bonita Springs, FL, shortly after a diagnosis of metastatic lung cancer.

She was born on December 5, 1951 in Nashua, NH, daughter of the late Jeanne A. (Demers) and Thomas J. O’Loughlin Jr.

Deborah grew up in Hudson, NH with her three siblings. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary Seminary in Nashua, NH and attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH. The majority of her career was spent working in public service for the State of New Hampshire, first for the Democratic House Minority Leader and then as a Legal Coordinator for the NH Insurance Department from which she retired in December 2015 after 25 years of service.

Deborah enjoyed being with her family and delighted in their accomplishments. She loved creating one of a kind birthday cakes for her nieces and nephews and was very proud of the fine adults they have become. She made wonderful lifelong friends and could always be counted on when someone was in need. She wanted everyone to know just how much she loved and appreciated them being in her life.

She is survived by her beloved bichon TJ, her sister Amy and her husband John Choroszy of Naples, FL, her brothers Thomas O’Loughlin and his wife Trish of Bedford, NH and Matthew O’Loughlin and his wife Ellen of Mashpee, MA; her five nieces and nephews, Lauren Lyons and her husband Alex of Stonington, CT, Trevor O’Loughlin of Bedford, NH, Nathan O’Loughlin of East Boston, MA, Brigid O’Loughlin of New York, NY and James O’Loughlin of Cambridge, MA.

Mary Ann Ullom

Mary Ann (Vecchione) Ullom, 73, of Nashua, NH, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 after a long illness. She was married to the late David Ullom of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, who died in May 1999.
Mary Ann was born in Whitinsville, MA on September 15, 1943, daughter of the late Theodore and Silvia (Colonero) Vecchione. She was raised in East Douglas, MA in a close-knit family community with her siblings, many cousins, aunts and uncles. Over the years, Mary Ann dedicated her life to her family, which was epitomized by her unwavering commitment and loving care for her son Jeff. When Jeff was diagnosed with severe Cerebral Palsy, she took on the lifelong task of making sure Jeff was healthy, happy and loved. Her interests in alternative health and naturopathic care became one of passions. She was a resource for family and friends
for natural remedies, for both mind and body. Her love of life was undeniable and her generosity of spirit brought joy to all who knew her.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly Ann; and is survived by her sons, Bob, Paul and Jeff; her grandchildren, Scott and Mark Trahan, Bobby, Michael and Mia Vecchione; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Kimberly and Brody Michael; daughter-in-law, Susan Vecchione; son-in-law, Mark Trahan; all of Chelmsford, MA and her loving siblings, Barbara and Teddy Vecchione.

Arthur A. Paquette

Arthur A. Paquette, 89, of Nashua, passed away Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, after a period of declining health.
A native of Manchester, NH, he was born on March 13, 1927, son of Abelbert and Beatrice (Fellows) Paquette. Educated in Manchester schools, Arthur was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1945. He served with the Army near the end of World War II and then continued his education at the New Hampshire School of Accounting, where he earned an Associate’s degree in 1949.
Mr. Paquette worked for the federal government as a civil service worker at Grenier Air Force Base in Manchester from 1949 to 1966 and then at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts from 1966 to 1985. He also worked at Rockingham Park Race Track in Salem for 20 years.
A resident of Manchester for many years, Arthur moved to Nashua in 1966 and then made his home in Leesburg, Florida from 1990 to 1999.
Members of his family include his wife, Patricia (Lorden) Paquette, whom he married in 1957 and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year; six children and their spouses, Gail and Ray Dion of Hudson, twin sons, Barry & Lynn Paquette of Allenstown and Brian and Tammie Paquette of Milford, Bruce Paquette of Nashua, Lynn and Jeff Lodding of Manchester and Ann and Ken Lucas of Illinois; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Bolser of Manchester and Yvette McMahon of Morris, IL; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Arthur was also predeceased by three sisters, Theresa Paquette, Yvonne Cole and Diane Paquette; and a grandson, Craig Matthew Dion.

Gerald Leo Grandmaison, 85, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness.
The son of the late Leo and Alma (Burelle) Grandmaison, he was born in Nashua on February 23, 1932. “Gerry” attended local schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1950. During the Korean War, Mr. Grandmaison served a tour with the U.S. Air Force.
Gerry worked as a retail sales representative of hardware and paints for the former Atlas Hardware, Hammar Hardware, and Osgood’s Hardware Store for many years; and was currently working at Belletete’s True Value Store in Nashua.
An accomplished Bass musician, Gerry played Jazz and Big Band music throughout New England for a number of years. He was an avid golfer and sports fan and especially loved spending time with his family.
Members of his family include his sons, Scott G. Grandmaison of Nashua and Thomas A. Grandmaison and his wife Lauren of Winchester, MA; his step-son, Michael Lacombe of Weare, NH; and his grandson, Andrew Grandmaison. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille Grandmaison; and his former wife, Barbara H. Barr.

Albert E. McCann

Albert Edward McCann, 91, a longtime Merrimack resident and formerly of Nashua, passed away Friday afternoon, March 3, 2017 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Nashua on January 25, 1926, he was a son of the late George and Zelinda (Gagnon) McCann. Following his education in the Nashua School System, “Al” served with the Navy during World War II as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class from February 1943 to February 1946. He was an active member of the Armed Guard and enjoyed attending reunions until his death.
After the war, Al was employed as an Environmental Technician with Raytheon in Lowell, Massachusetts for 37 years.
In his leisure time, Al was a member of Lake Waukewan Campground for over 40 years and loved several family gatherings during the summers. Al enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife Alice; was an avid Snowmobiler and enjoyed venturing to various Casino’s.
Members of his family include his wife, Alice H. (LeBlanc) McCann of Merrimack, with whom he shared the past 71 years together; three sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Susan McCann of Hudson, Edward and Sandra McCann and Michael and Pam McCann all of Merrimack; three grandchildren, Arthur T. McCann II and Tara Casey of Nashua, Amanda McCann of Nashua and Shannon Gagnon and her husband Matthew of Manchester; step-grandchildren, Lisa and Timothy Klein of Nashua and Kate and Sean Lindsay of Newton, MA; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret McCann of Nashua; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Armand LeBlanc and Robert and Rita LeBlanc all of Merrimack and Raymond and Suzanne LeBlanc of Grafton, NH; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Raymond P. Marrotte, 55, of Nashua, NH, husband of Dawn M. (Costello) Marrotte, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday evening, March 2, 2017.
He was born on February 16, 1962 to the late Elaine (Lefairve) and Robert Marrotte.
Raymond and his siblings were raised in Taunton, Massachusetts. It was there, where he met his wife Dawn, before the couple moved up to the Nashua area. The two were married on October 7, 1989 and shared a wonderful 27 years together.
Raymond loved camping and spending quality time with family and friends. He also enjoyed working on cars and making trips to the New England Dragway.
In addition to his wife Dawn, he is survived by his four children, Mellissa & Kurt Mello, of Pennyslvania, Kaitlin Marrotte & Brian Buddish, of Minnesotta, Matthew C. Marrotte & his significant other Katie Smart, of Groveton, and Raymond P. Marrotte Jr, of Nashua; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Mason, Kayden, Ryleigh, Isaac, Bentley, and Elliana; his siblings, Robert Marrotte, Jeanne Costa, and Paulette Marrotte; also, several nieces, and nephews.

Wyman E. Cogswell

Wyman E. Cogswell, 65, of Nashua, fought with grace and quiet bravery against cancer and on Sunday, February 26, 2017, he died at his home, surrounded by love, laughter and tears.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on September 7, 1951, he was a son of the late Wyman E. and Ione D. (Fellows) Cogswell, and the brother of Nancy and Ken Cogswell. He is survived by his wife and true companion, Catherine of 46 years; and his children, John, Erin and Abbe and their spouses, Barbara, Mike Merwede and Billy Crooker.
Lovingly referred to as “Pops” or ”Pa” to his grandchildren, Sydney, Cameron, Ben, Evan, Katie, Mikey, Averie and Sloan. His extended family consists of his wife’s family, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and many wonderful people he called friends.
Wyman worked at Nashua Corporation for many years and finished his career at LSNE in Manchester.
Among the pleasures he counted in his life were hunting, fishing, spending time on his boat and camping at Hermit Island and always the time spent in the company of his family. He held many talents, one of those being a natural gardener. He spent many happy hours in his gardens and his plants were outstanding, his tomatoes among the best and his pumpkins were legendary. He had a knack for bargaining at the flea market, and finding a good deal. To remember him, he suggested that people “take a walk in the woods” to reflect on the happy times that he shared with his family and friends.
Per his request, there will be no formal services. Calling hours for family and friends will be held at the family home at 32 Granite Street, Nashua on Monday, March 6th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.

Nancy Anne Ellis, 61, of Nashua, passed away Saturday evening, February 25, 2017 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
A resident of Nashua for the past 15 years, Nancy was born in Presque Isle, Maine on January 20, 1956, one of eight children of the late Vern Leroy Ellis and Mavis Louise (Dove) Ellis. She grew up in Caribou, Maine where her father owned and operated a potato farm. Nancy attended schools there and was a graduate of Caribou High School Class of 1974.
Nancy worked as a computer technician for Wholesale Computer of Stamford, Connecticut and also worked and resided for a time in Long Beach, California.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and rug hooking and was an avid New England Patriots fan. Nancy was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Nashua.
Members of her family include her significant other, Arthur L. Furber, with whom she shared over ten years together; two sons, Jamie Simon and Keith Simon;
a brother of Atlanta, GA; and six sisters all residing on an Indian Reservation in Canada; and her extended family, The Frost Family.

Jadvyga A. “Judy” Savickas, 92, of Nashua, passed away Thursday evening, February 23, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a brief illness.
Miss Savickas was born in Kaunas, Lithuania on August 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Petras and Marija (Pauliukaite) Savickas. Judy was educated in Lithuania and finished high school there. In 1949, she and her family immigrated to the United
States and has made her home in Nashua for the past 68 years. She continued her education at the former Nashua Business College for two years.
Judy had been employed as a secretary at Sprague Electric Company, Horton & Hubbard Luggage Company and Goodwill Stores.
Her hobbies were crossword and picture puzzles, ping pong, playing piano and bicycling until 80 years old. Judy was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and the former St. Casimir Church.
Members of her family include her nephew, James V. Savickas, DMD and his wife Jennifer; grandnephew, Jameson Savickas all of Merrimack, NH; brother-in-law, Stanley Stoncius of Nashua; and cousins, Rimvydas Naujokas and Rita Maciuleviciene of Lithuania. In addition to her parents, Judy was also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Vytautas and Bertha (Stoncius) Savickas.

Corine (Clarkson) Morton-Chorney, of Nashua, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
Corine was born in Nashua on March 31, 1928, a daughter of the late Sidney W. and Viola C. (Lambert) Clarkson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Sidney W. Clarkson, Jr. and Douglas Clarkson and is survived by her sister, Beverly Caswell.
Corine graduated from Nashua High School in 1946 and went to work for New England Telephone and Telegraph as a telephone operator. She married Stanley Morton, Jr. and they had four children, Debra and her husband Paul Wallace; Cheryl and her late husband, Jimmie D. Purselley, Jr.; Cyd and her husband Larry Jean; and Craig Morton and his partner Tom Hogan. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Wallace, Jennifer Jean Miller, Melissa Jean, Jacob Purselley, Jim Purselley, III, and Jason Purselley; great-grandchildren, Peyton Miller, Bella Miller, Will Miller and Arya Purselley. Corine was also predeceased by her second husband, Harry Chorney. She leaves behind her long time dear companion and friend, Davis “Skip” Bryant. Together they enjoyed traveling abroad, in New England and spending time enjoying day trips, playing cards and dining out.
Corine was a talented artist who loved oil painting. She was the owner of “Hayseed Antiques” and loved buying, selling and visiting fellow antique lover and shop owners in New England. She had a passion for greyhounds and worked as a volunteer for Greyhound Pets of America. Corine was the proud momma of two beautiful greyhounds, Tess and Gunther. She also had a love for cows and horses and was especially proud of her grandson, Justin’s love of therapeutic horseback riding. She was a funny, compassionate and caring lady and will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate to share in her life.

Pauline (Gaudreau) Belowski, 94, a lifelong Nashua resident and widow of Walter A. Belowski, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
Mrs. Belowski was born in Nashua on October 4, 1922, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Margaret (Houldsworth) Gaudreau. She was educated in the Nashua School System.
Pauline loved family gatherings and enjoyed the outdoors and long walks. She was a very kind person and was proud of her daughter and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Belowski was mechanically talented and could do repairs around her home and loved to knit. “To know Pauline was to love her”.
Pauline and her husband Walter were married on September 25, 1948, and shared over 50 wonderful years together until his passing on June 16, 1999. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Dorothy Gaudreau and John and Joan Gaudreau; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice M. and Charles Buzzell and Irene and John J. Belowski.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret L. Belowski of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

William E. “Red” McCabe

William E. “Red” McCabe. 88, a well-known Nashua resident, passed away Saturday morning, February 18, 2017 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 18, 1928, he was a son of the late William E. and Alice A. (Rondeau) McCabe. Red was educated in local schools and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1947. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. McCabe served as a Master Sergeant in Germany for two years.
Following for his military service, Red began his career in sporting goods at the former Philip Morris Store in downtown Nashua. He then worked for MacGregor Golf and Athletic Equipment for twenty years and later was an independent sporting goods sales representative.
Mr. McCabe was a 56 year and life member of Nashua Lodge 720 Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks. He also held memberships in the American Legion James E. Coffey Post #3 of Nashua; the 28th Infantry Division Association; the Korean War Veterans Association, Inc. and the New England Chapter of Korea Veterans of America. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
In November of 1951, Red married Jeannette E. Douville and they shared over 45 years together until her passing on May 1, 1997.
Members of his family include a step-son, Dennis G. Baker and his wife Claire of Goffstown; seven step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren; close friends, Robert T. Ravenelle and Shirley B. Messier both of Nashua; his God children, Gerard A. Baron and his wife Cali, James T. Guill and his wife Vicki and Robert T. Ravenelle II; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Red was also predeceased by a step-daughter and her husband, Claire (Baker) and Ernest Rager.

Colette T. Moreau, 78, of Nashua, passed away at her home, Thursday, February 16, 2017 after a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Romeo O. and Jeanne M. (Lavoie) Moreau, she was born in Nashua on July 9, 1938. Colette made her home in the French Hill neighborhood, where she attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School and graduated from the former St. Louis High School.
Colette had been employed with the former Nashua Federal Savings & Loans; then was a secretary at St. Francis Xavier Church and St. Louis Cemetery. She later worked at J.C. Penny’s and more recently worked in the Ladies Department of Macy’s at the Pheasant Lane Mall.
She was an active communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church and the former St. Francis Xavier Church.
Members of her family include her brother, Brother Roger A. Moreau, M.S. of Attleboro, MA; a sister-in-law, Beverly Moreau; three nieces, Diane Ballard, Debra Wardlow and Doris Lagasse; and many cousins. Colette was predeceased by her brother, Armand R. Moreau who passed away in April of 1995.

Barbara V. Keirstead, 70, a lifelong Nashua resident, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, February 15, 2017.
The daughter of the late Willard C. and Gladys I. (Fancy) Keirstead, she was born in Nashua on November 26, 1946. Barbara was a graduate of Nashua High School and furthered her education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education.
Barbara was a longtime English teacher in both the Merrimack and Nashua school systems, and retired while at Nashua High South.
Barbara was a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church of Nashua, where she served on numerous committees, fund raisers, dinners, church fairs and other events. Over the years, she enjoyed golfing, cross country skiing, gardening, traveling, spending summers in Wells Beach Maine and was a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Members of her family include her brothers, Willard L. Keirstead of Nashua and Richard C. Keirstead and his wife Susan of Windsor, CT; a sister-in-law, Barbara H. Kierstead of Nashua; an Uncle, Donald Morrison and his wife Beverly of Hooksett and her nieces and nephews, Wayne Kierstead, Jill Duquette, Danny Kierstead and Kathy Kierstead , Dale Keirstead, Sheri Keirstead, Jason Keirstead and his wife Kelly, David Keirstead, Anne Heinrich and her husband Eric; a grandniece, Hanna Kierstead; four grandnephews, Joseph Keirstead and his wife Tarah, Campfield Keirstead, Paxton Keirstead and Jayden Keirstead; a great-grandnephew, Logan Kierstead; and longtime extended family, Mary Ann Matson of Nashua, Michael Rizzo of Nashua and David Sample of Alton.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a brother, Harold W. Kierstead; and a nephew, Harvey Keirstead.
