Beatrice C. (Baker) Melendy, 96, of Kissimmee, Florida, and formerly of Nashua, passed away early Thursday morning, August 20th at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Kissimmee. “Bea” was the widow of George L. Melendy.

    A Nashua native, Mrs. Melendy was born on August 26, 1918, a daughter of the late Andre and Celia Rose (Dowling) Baker. Educated in local schools, Bea was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1936.

   Bea and her husband George were married on September 3, 1938 and made their home in Nashua for many years. After his retirement, the couple moved to Venice, Florida where they resided for 21 years before returning to Nashua in 1999. The Melendy’s shared 67 years together until George’s death in July 2005. Mrs. Melendy moved back to Florida in 2006 and made her home with her son and daughter-in-law.

   Bea was a member of the Nashua Country Club for many years where she loved to curl and golf.

   Members of her family include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen A. and Karla Melendy of Poinciana, FL; twin grandsons, Kolin Melendy and his fiancée Adam Dubois of St. Petersburg, FL and Kyle Melendy of Nashua.

   Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday, Sept. 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Wednesday morning at 11:30 A.M. The Rev. Deacon John J. Martin will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Milford, NH. Friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE.
