Blanche A. “Bianca” Farwell, 93, formerly of Nashua, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, July 31, 2021 at The Inn at Fairview in Hudson.  Bianca was the widow of Charles H. Farwell, Jr.

Born in Nashua on December 26, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Auguste J. and Rose Anna (Hudon) Soucy.  Bianca attended St. Louis de Gonzague school and was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1946 and furthered her education at Rivier College. Prior to her marriage in 1951, she had worked for the former Miller’s clothing store and in the office of the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company.

Bianca devoted much of her life to her husband, four children and three grandchildren.  She served as an officer of the Farwell Funeral Service, Inc. for many years and assisted in answering the phone, hospitality and interior decorating.

She had been a longtime volunteer of both St. Joseph Hospital and Nashua Memorial Hospital now Southern New Hampshire Medical Center as a messenger, delivering mail, and in the gift shop.  Bianca served on the board of directors of the Nashua YWCA; was an active communicant of St. Christopher Church and was Eucharistic Minister. She also sang with the Nashua Choral Group in the 1960s.

A woman of deep faith, Bianca had an accepting, nurturing personality.  She initiated conversations and made friends easily.  Bianca fashioned a beautiful, inviting home and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends.  Her home was always filled with music.  She played the piano and loved dancing with Charlie. They attended concerts and live theater.  Some of her favorite past times were playing cards, especially bridge and cribbage; completing crossword puzzles and word jumbles; sewing and knitting; tending her outdoor flowers and floral designing.   In retirement, Bianca and Charlie enjoyed many winters at Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

Bianca was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Charlie, on March 19, 2020; and her eldest son, Kevin on January 5, 2021. The youngest of nine children, she was also predeceased by her eight siblings, Jeanne A. Labine and her husband Joseph, Germaine C., Therese I. and Beatrice M. Soucy, Lionel G. “Speed” Soucy, Robert J. Soucy and his wife Beatrice, Paul E. Soucy and his wife Phyllis, and Armand L. Soucy and his wife Mary.

Members of her family include her children, Dana J. Farwell, Judith A. McDonald and her husband Richard, and Holly E. Kaminski and her husband Thomas; her three grandchildren, Chad M. Kaminski, Taryn E. Kaminski and Emily C. McDonald; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Fairview Healthcare for all their wonderful care, support and kindness for Bianca, Charlie, their children and grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for her family at Edgewood Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. www.farwellfuneralservice.com

Dear Dana, Judy, Holly and Families; So sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother, Blanche. I can remember when she and my mother, Claire Hanlon, used to offer their free time @ NH Red Cross Blood Banks all over the Greater Nashua area, together with Jeanne O'Loughlin. When my Mother passed away on September 15, 1985, your Father, Charlie, assisted me and my Family with my Mother's funeral arrangements. Both your Mother Blanche and your Father Charlie were such very nice, supportive human beings!! May all of the happy memories that you enjoyed as a Family help to bring a smile to your faces and ease the pain at this difficult time. Deepest sympathies, Richard Hanlon and Family

Holly, Judy & Dana, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was an amazing woman. I used to love Fridays with her in my mom’s salon. She introduced me to coffee and would read and play cards with me. She will be greatly missed.

Holly, (Tom, too), Judy and DJ, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother, and to Chad, Taryn and Emily, the loss of your grandmother. I have so many fond memories of Bianca at family celebrations, "Estimate" games and holidays. She always had a smile on her face and a funny/witty remark. I hope the memory of her is a blessing.
