Clifford L. Soucy, obituary, Farwell Funeral Service, Nashua, NH

Clifford L. Soucy, 92, a longtime Nashua resident, passed away at his home, Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

A native of Van Buren, Maine, he was born on April 3, 1927, a son of the late Elie J. and Mary D. (Parent) Soucy and was educated in Van Buren schools.

Cliff had been employed with the former Hammar Hardware in Nashua as manager of the tool department for 27 years.

In his leisure time, Cliff enjoyed Classical music and attended Nashua Community Concerts for many years.

Members of his family include a sister, Constance D. Lavoie Acquino of Nashua; sister-in-law, Lucille Soucy of Nashua; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Cliff was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning, August 13^th at 11 o’clock. Friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in his memory to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.

Sorry for your loss. Cliff was a very nice person. I always looked for him when I went to Hammar Hardware.

We had the honor to meet Cliff several times at special family gatherings.What a wonderful,wonderful man he was.To know him was to love him. There are not to many Cliffs around and he sure was one of the best. Cliff we are glad we got to meet you.May you rest in PEACE We will remember you fondly Ute and Gerald Sunderman ( Christinas grandparents)

We have been neighbors with Cliff for twelve years, and we've enjoyed all the moments we've had with him. One, in particular, happened recently. We rarely ever go out, and we went to a coworker's open mic performance in town. As soon as we got out of the car, Rob's phone started ringing. It was Cliff. He wanted to let us know someone delivered a package on our front step. Cliff was always concerned our packages would be stolen (as they have been), and he'd even tell the delivery people to put them on the side of the house if he saw them. That was the kind of neighbor that Cliff was. We would decorate our house for the holidays, and he'd call to tell us how beautiful it was. He'd come over to tell us how nice the garden looked. Rob would sit and talk with him for hours. We celebrated every birthday with a dessert for him, and I think, even if he hated it, he'd tell us it was the most delicious thing he'd ever eaten. And he's always mail us a card for anything we did, no matter how small. Every day, I looked to see if his curtains were open. That was how I knew he was kickin'. They weren't last Wednesday, and the neighborhood hasn't been the same since. We miss you greatly, Cliff.
