   Doris R. Colletta, 82, of Nashua, wife of Charles T. Colletta, (well-known musician and hardware executive) passed away Thursday evening, July 21, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.

     A native and lifelong resident of the French Hill neighborhood of this city, Doris was born on March 15, 1934, a daughter of the late Hilaire A. and Blanche G. (Cassista) Galipeau.  She attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School, Spring Street Junior High School and graduated from Nashua High School in the upper quarter of the Class of 1952.

    During the 1950s, Mrs. Colletta was employed at the Hillsborough County Court House on Temple Street in Nashua and later worked at St. Joseph Hospital as an administrative assistant of building and grounds for several years. She retired in the mid 1980’s to care for her grandniece, Kaitlin Cronin.  

   Doris loved traveling with her husband Charlie around New Hampshire to performances by the 39th Army Band of the New Hampshire National Guard of which Charlie is a band member; and traveled with him to many hardware shows around the USA. Doris loved spending many summers at her home in Wells Beach, Maine. She also enjoyed the challenge of solving puzzles and word search; was an avid gardener and loved animals including birds, cats and dogs.

     Members of her family include her husband Charlie, whom she married on May 19, 1956 and shared 60 wonderful years together; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas C. and Susanne Colletta of Portsmouth; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley A. and Bertrand Chouinard of Wells, ME; sister-in-law, Mary (Colletta) Dirubbo of Nashua; brother-in-law, John Dulgarian of Tewksbury, MA; nieces and nephews, Christopher A. Chouinard, Jonathan C. Chouinard and his wife Amy, Michael Dirubbo and his wife Karon, Kathy (Dirubbo) Cronin and her husband Daniel, Tina (Dulgarian) Hagen, Gregory Dulgarian and his wife Jacqui, and Mark Dulgarian; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Rita (Colletta) Dulgarian; and her brother-in-law, Ralph T. Dirubbo.

   SERVICES: The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Wednesday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m. followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Donations may be made in her memory to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to Corpus Christi Food Pantry, 43 Franklin Street, Nashua, NH 03064. Aunt Doris, I will miss you so much. You brought our family a lot of joy in so may ways: Your generosity, your hospitality, your kindness, and your laughter. The list goes on and on. I'll always remember your laugh, that always made us laugh in turn! You were one of a kind. I am glad you suffer no more and that you are at peace with our Lord. + We will always remember you as a great lady.

To Charlie, Tom and family... my sympathy and heart go out to you all. I will always cherish the memories of growing up with " Mrs C." as a close neighbor and many times a second mom. She was a remarkable and caring person who I looked up to and greatly respected. -David
