Doris N. Hartnett, 88, of Nashua, widow of David P. Hartnett, passed away early Friday morning, November 25, 2016 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Hartnett was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on June 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Luther P. and Shirley (Merrill) Nichols. During her youth, Doris resided in Dover where she was educated and graduated from Dover High School Class of 1946. She later made her home in Pelham, NH, Woburn, Burlington and Malden, MA and California before moving to Nashua in the 1960s. While raising her family, Doris also worked in the electronics and computer industry at Schlumberger, Inc. of Billerica, MA for eleven years.
Doris was a former communicant of St. Christopher Church, sang in the choir and served as a Eucharistic Minister. In 1988, Doris and her husband relocated to Plant City, Florida where she was a communicant of St. Clements Church and was a member of the Golden Lakes Golf Club.
In addition to her husband David who passed away in 2006; Doris was also predeceased by three sons, David P. Hartnett Jr, Dennis D. Hartnett and Daniel J. Hartnett; and her brother, Bruce N. Nichols.
Members of her family include a son and his wife, Dana J. and Denise Hartnett of Merrimack, NH; two daughters-in-law, Joanne Hartnett of Nashua and Beverly Hartnett of Worcester, MA; three grandchildren, Scott, Doug and Lisa Hartnett; nine great-grandchildren, Oliana Hartnett, Moira-Riley Hartnett, Ian Hartnett, Brooke Loepp, Kira Malloy, Chase Wilson, Alexander Hartnett, Qhorin Hartnett and Morrighan Hartnett; also nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, Wednesday morning, November 30th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua.
