Elsie Georgianna (MacDonald) Zink, 98, of Nashua, widow of Albert Zink, passed away Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare after a period of declining health.

    A resident of Nashua for the past 35 years, “Ellie” was born in Canada on September 12, 1917. Educated in Canadian schools, she served with the United States Navy during World War II.

    Ellie and her husband resided in Chelmsford, Massachusetts for several years before moving in Nashua in the early 1980s. In addition to raising her children, Mrs. Zink had been employed for a time at Masi Plumbing and Heating and Splash Bath Showroom both in Nashua.

     A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ellie loved spending time with her family and friends.

     In addition to her husband and parents, Ellie was predeceased by her brother, Donald MacDonald; and her grandson, Richard F. Greaves Jr.

     Members of her family include her daughters, Judith A. Mulvey and her husband James; and Patricia Chartrand all of Nashua; two grandchildren, Courtney Stewart and her husband Robert of Nashua and Philip Chartrand of Chelsea, MA; four great-grandchildren, Cody Austin, Emma Stewart, Chloe Stewart and R.J. Stewart; nieces and nephews, Joan P. Zinkawich, MD of Hudson, Richard Glispin and his wife Margie of Londonderry and Ginger Hovey and her husband David of Louisiana; and many friends.

     Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday, February 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home, Monday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 South River Road, #210, Bedford, NH 03110. Dear Nashua and MA families, It is with sadness that I learned of Elsie's passing this morning. When our family lived in eastern Canada, and we were young, we had regular visits with Elsie and Al and Patty and Judy. Love and Blessings to you and your families. 💖

I only met Aunt Elsie once! I truly enjoyed her visit to Vancouver and getting to know her. I'm so sad to here of her passing but what a great life. Much love to my cousins Patty and Judy!
