Frances E. (Gardner) Cushing, 96, of Nashua, widow of Willard S. Cushing, passed away Friday evening, November 20, 2015 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare after a period of declining health.
Born in Mont Vernon, NH on August 12, 1919, Mrs. Cushing was raised in Francestown where she attended local schools and was a high school graduate.
Frances and her husband were married on New Year’s Day in 1940 and made their home in Francestown and later in Hillsboro from the late 1950s to 1976 when they
relocated to Nashua.
Frances enjoyed making puzzles, going to bingo, her cats and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Willard who passed away December 2, 1992, Frances was predeceased by nineteen sisters and two brothers.
Members of her family include five sons, William Cushing of Exeter, Joseph Cushing and his wife Jeannine of Nashua, Larry Cushing of Lowell, MA, Ralph Cushing of Manchester and David Cushing and his wife Hope of Hudson; a daughter, Shirley Shephard of Dracut, MA; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed by interment in Edgewood Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. (603) 882-0591. www.farwellfuneral.com
