Georgia Elaine (Gregory) Black, 92, of Amherst, NH passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Monday, March 30. Georgia was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on April 4, 1927 to George W. Gregory and Vaudie Belle (Murphy) Gregory.
After graduating high school, she went on to secretarial school before securing a job with Bell South Telephone. Her legacy to her community was as a foster grandparent to area public schools and her church. She spent many hours reading to children in their classrooms. An avid knitter, she was known for her homemade mittens which warmed the hands and hearts of her beloved students and grandchildren.
The greatest accomplishment of her life was her four children: Nancy; Gregory and his wife, Deborah; Jeff and his partner, Ellen; and Christopher (deceased). She is survived by grandchildren: Christine and her husband, David; Elisabeth and her husband, David; Nicole and her husband, Andre; Daniel, and his partner, Teresa; Christopher and his partner, Lydia; and Karen. She joined one little great-grandson, Zypher, in heaven and is survived by an additional twenty-one little ones who have fond memories of their Grandma B: Collin, Jon, Josh, Abby, Maddie, Andy, Chloe, Joey, Ella, Katie, Jubilee, Adin, Michaela, Ethan, Anna, Matthew, Loki, Noella, Hannah, Felix, and Nathan.
