Gertrude J. Thibault, 99, of Nashua, widow of Antonio “Jack” Thibault, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, May 1, 2018 at her home at the Hunt Community where she has resided for the past 15 years.
A lifelong resident of this city, Mrs. Thibault was born in Nashua on February 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Alexis and Georgianna (Boucher) Ouellette. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1937 and attended a beautician school.
“Gert” was a longtime hairstylist and owned and operated Gertrude’s Beauty Salon in her home for a number of years.
She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years and enjoyed gardening and refinishing furniture in her leisure time.
In addition to her parents, Gert was predeceased by her husband Jack, who passed away May 9, 1989; and her brother, Romeo Ouellette, a longtime Nashua Police Officer who passed away in 1997.
Gert is survived a niece, Ann D. Parsons; and a grandnephew, Curtis A. Parsons both of Nashua; and her longtime friend, Janice L. Degulis of Hudson.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will take place at St. Louis Cemetery, 752 West Hollis St., Nashua on Thursday May 10th at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to attend.
