Gilbert M. Gaudreau, 71, a longtime Nashua resident, passed away at his home, Monday, July 22, 2024.
Born in France at the American Hospital on August 10, 1952, Gilbert was one of seven children of the late Lt. Col. Eugene L. and Elizabeth A. (Cyr) Gaudreau. He grew up in Nashua on Summer Street and was a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School. He furthered his education at the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque. Gilbert served in two branches of the US Military Service beginning with the Air Force from November 1971 to August 1975 and then with the Army from August 1978 to January 1979.
Gilbert was very well read in Philosophy, Medicine, Art and Religion. In his leisure time, he enjoyed Chess, Pool, music and was a sports fan of the Boston teams.
Members of his family include a son, Gilbert M. Gaudreau, Jr., his sisters and brothers, Elizabeth “Beth” Corcoran and her husband Richard, Eugene Gaudreau Jr. and his wife Francine, Rosemarie Pitarys and her husband Byron, John Gaudreau, Andrew Gaudreau, and Celeste Guidice; also many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Tuesday, July 30th at 10 a.m. Interment and Air Force Funeral Honors will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at 12:30 p.m. Friends are invited to attend.
