Jacqueline Diane Roy, 41, of Hudson, NH, passed away Tuesday morning, March 28, 2023 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
Born in Nashua on October 9, 1981, she is a daughter of Denise A. Viens of Hudson and Michael W. Roy of Shirley, MA. Educated in local schools, Jacqueline began her business and marketing career during high school with the Nashoba Chamber of Commerce at Devens, MA. She began her university studies at Fitchburg State College in a dual enrollment program her junior year at Ayer High School. She finished her studies at the University of Lowell, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in business and marketing. While at ULowell she worked in the office of Congressman Marty Meehan.
Immediately after graduation she began work as a marketing and public relations director for Vislink and quickly rose to become vice president within that organization. After a brief sabbatical from the corporate world she worked in the public sector for the Timberland Regional High School as a para-professional and then as a home health aid for the elderly with Heaven Sent. Her knack for business began as a teenager while helping her mother, grandfather Maurice and her Uncle Bobby at the family-owned wood shop. She developed her own sense of personal style which resulted in finishing in the Top Five of the Massachusetts Miss Teen USA Pageant in 1999. Jacqueline was an excellent communicator, organizer and had a profound influence on her sisters and friends.
She grew up in Hudson and was a communicant and Altar server at St. John The Evangelist Church. Jacqueline loved to travel, visiting California, New York, Colorado, Aruba and Costa Rica. She also enjoyed dance, martial arts, cross country and sang in the school choir. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her grandparents’ lake front properties in NH; Sargent and Shellcamp Lakes.
In addition to her parents, Jacqueline is survived by her step-mother, Debra Roy; her sisters, Sarah (Roy) DeCarteret and her husband Greg, Kathleen Roy and her husband Derrick Cullen and Christine Roy; her brother, the late Master Sergeant Robert L. Roy; nephew, Nathan DeCarteret; nieces, Lia DeCarteret, Aubrey Cullen and Claira Cullen; grandparents, Jeannette and Lucien Roy; Carol Viens and the late Maurice Viens; aunts and uncles, Sandra (Roy) Goddard (her Godmother), Rand Goddard, her loving Aunt Diane Dwyer (Viens), Robert Viens (her godfather) Laurie and Joe Cannata and family, and the late Steven Dwyer; several cousins including Stacie (Goddard) Mahair, Eric Mahair, Amelia Mahair and Melody Goddard, Mark Masterson, Chauncey Dunklee, Jeremy Dwyer, Candie Dwyer and Kay and Will Vickers; Deb and Andy Marsh and family; Laurie Dwyer and Weeb Merrick; Ed and Lou Dwyer and family; Claudia and Dave Labrecque; Jim and Marcie Dwyer and her beloved dog, Lola. She had many friends including Mary Beth Curran, Kim and Jay Fauvel and family, Beth Stevenson, Janice Lanpher and family, Brooke and Max Volkmar and family, Kristy Bennett and family, Amanda and Kevin Christopher and family, Ali Maynard, Shanin Lavoie, Dick Dionne, and Courtney Shimek.
