   James B. Creech, 79, of Merrimack, NH and formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away Friday morning, October 18, 2024 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a brief period of declining health.          

   A resident of Merrimack for many years, he was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on September 19, 1945, son of the late James C. and Eleanor (Govoni) Creech.

   Jim was educated in Arlington schools and enlisted in Navy at the age of 17. He served aboard the USS Okinawa during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Jim worked as a sales representative in the advertising office of the Lowell Sun for several years until he retired.

   Jim enjoyed photography and fishing in his leisure time. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of over 30 years, Arlene M. “Terry” (Avallone) Creech, who passed away February 19, 2019; and his brother, Crawford Creech of Epsom, NH.

    Members of his family include his sisters, Donna Greenhalgh of Nashua, NH and Patricia DiFazio of Moultonborough, NH; a step-daughter, Lisa Stanton of Peabody, MA; nieces and nephews, Deborah Sgro, Robert DiFazio, Lee Greenhalgh, Crawford Creech and Diane Avallone; also many grandnieces and grandnephews.

     A Graveside service and Navy Honors will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, Thursday, November 14th at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to attend.
