James E. Sweeney, Sr., 82, formerly of Nashua, passed away peacefully Friday evening, July 27, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, with his family by his side.
Jim was born on October 2, 1935, son of the late Francis and Evelyn (Frazier) Sweeney. He grew up in Berlin, NH, was a graduate of Berlin High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Sweeney was a veteran of the United States Army.
In 1966, Jim married Jeannine D. Barrette and they moved to Nashua, where he went to work for what was then New England Telephone. He remained there through all their various name changes and eventually retired from Verizon in 2006 after 40 years of service.
