Janet M. Ries, 87, of Hollis, NH, widow of Frank W. Ries, passed away Monday evening, November 28, 2016 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua after a brief illness.
A resident of Hollis for the past ten years, Mrs. Ries was born in Millinocket, Maine on July 21, 1929, one of eight children of the late Joseph and Marie (Bouchard) Baron.
Prior to moving to Hollis, Janet and her family made their home in Alton, NH and Framingham, MA. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Resurrection in Nashua and will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Janet was predeceased by her husband Frank who passed away in 2000; her brothers, Mark, Leonard, Murio, Joseph and Louis Baron; and a sister, Claire Beaulieu.
Members of her family include her son, Frank W. Ries, Jr. of Hollis, with whom she resided; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Randall Blake of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Scott Blake; a sister, Geneva Pelletier of Sicklerville, NJ; also many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Friday morning, December 2nd at 11 o’clock. Friends are invited to attend. Following cremation, interment will take place in Effingham, Illinois at a later date.
