DAIGLE, JEANNE M.

Jeanne M. (Pelletier) Daigle, 91 of Nashua NH passed away on June 5, 2021 with her loving family by her side.  Born November 13, 1929 she was a third generation Nashua resident.  She was the wife of the late Robert N. Daigle.  Married in 1953, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Following graduation from Nashua High School in 1947, she worked for her father at Service Electric Company as a bookkeeper.  She attended Nashua Business College in the evenings and was an active student, a team player on the girl’s basketball team and a member of student council.  She graduated in 1952 with a degree in Bookkeeping.  Finishing her education, Jeanne went to work for the Johns Mansville Company as a bookkeeper in the finance office.  Once married, Jeanne managed the finances of their family business, Bruce Construction Co.

Jeanne enjoyed summering at Lake Winnipesaukee, following New England sports, traveling abroad, visiting her children as they moved about the country, and cheering her grandchildren on at sporting events.  Jeanne was an incredible baker.  Rarely was there a time the grandchildren would arrive without fresh homemade ‘Grandma Cookies’ in the jar.

She lived in her Dover Street home for 55 years.  She was the “honorary neighborhood Mom”.  Jeanne was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Saint Christopher Parish, Parish of The Resurrection and Saint Francis Xavier Parish.  When Jeanne moved to Langdon Place of Nashua in 2013, she became a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Parish.  Jeanne built heart felt relationships within the parishes and the Langdon Community.

She was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Albina Pelletier.  She was the sister of Sr. Marie Christilla of Manchester, and predeceased by sister Lorette McAfee and brother Donald Pelletier.

Jeanne will continue to be loved by their eight children: Bruce R. Daigle and his wife Monica of Woonsocket, RI; Susan E. Reed and her husband Donald of North Royalton, Ohio; Thomas J. Daigle and his wife Debra of Nashua, NH; Katherine M. Sipe and her husband Charles of West Deptford, NJ; Gary A. Daigle and his wife Sandra of Colorado Springs, CO; Linda L. Mello and her husband Allen of Nashua, NH; Janet A. O’Hara and her husband Kevin of Groton, MA; and Michelle M. Levesque and her husband Paul of Amherst, NH. She cherished her 20 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren, and all her nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua NH on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua NH on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.  Friends are invited to gather at the church.  Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. My sympathies to all of you….especially Sue. So many good memories of being at the Daigle house, watching Mrs. Daigle baking something…I remember yummy cakes! And being greeted by that smile. I wish you all the peace and comfort of knowing she and your dad are together again

I loved going to the Daigle home. Watching Mom Daigle being a mom was one of my favorite things to do. She was just so darned good at it! She always made me feel welcome and opened her arms and her heart to me. The memory of her will always bring a smile. Thank you Mom Daigle. And thank you Daigle kids for allowing me my brief, but much appreciated, moments with her. She is not far for she is in your hearts.
