   Judith A. Stapleton, RN, 81, of Nashua and formerly of Lowell, MA, passed away Sunday morning, August 7, 2022, after a period of declining health.        

   Born in Lowell on July 28, 1941, the daughter of the late Timothy E. “Teddy” and Christine N. (Murphy) Stapleton. Judy grew up in the Acre and Highlands neighborhoods of Lowell and was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough, Class of 1959. She furthered her education at the Catherine Labourne School of Nursing at Carney Hospital in Boston, MA, graduating as a registered nurse in 1962.

    Judy began her career in nursing at St. John’s Hospital in Lowell for ten years and continued at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA for five years.

    She was a member of the Alumni of Notre Dame Academy and the Catherine Labourne School of Nursing. Judy was a former member of the Catholic Nurses Association and Catholic Daughters of America.

    In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping, socializing and dining out with her friends.

   Judy is survived by her cousins, Barbara (Spinney) Brown and her husband Walter of Nashua, George Spinney and his wife Diane of New York, Robert Spinney and his wife Maureen, and Gail Martin all of Lowell; and dear friends Patricia Shaw and Sharon Nugent of North Chelmsford.

    A period of visitation will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Saturday, August 13th from 9 to 9:30 a.m. followed by A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend. Donations may be in her memory to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I will always remember our Walker Street days. I still have the nurse's cap she gave me when she graduated. My grandfather Maurice was her mother's brother. JOY ALLARD
