Karen M. Herland, 66, of Hudson, entered into eternal life with the Lord, her husband Ricky and all her family that predeceased her. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family on Thursday September 6, 2018. A resident of Hudson since 1993, Karen was born in Medford, MA on April 3, 1952. Karen was the daughter of the late Mr. Eric Moore and Mrs. Thelma Moore. Karen grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School.
Karen was a dental assistant for years. When her children were young she drove the school bus for over 20 years. Later in life Karen worked at Market Basket as a cashier which she loved as she met many people and chatted with all who came through her line. Karen was always loving and caring to all those she met.
Karen loved spending time with her daughter Melissa Seccareccio and her husband James Seccareccio and her son Eric Herland and his fiancé Gabrielle Reynolds. She adored her 4 grandchildren, Nicholas, Colby and Hannah Seccareccio and Kaliana Brielle Herland. She loved laughing and being silly with her two sisters Laurie Allen and Sandi Carpenter. Karen looked forward to her trips to Kennebunk beach with her sisters, late mother and late friend Gloria. She loved splashing in her pool with her family and friends. Karen and her late husband, Ricky, often took trips to the ocean, even in storms. She enjoyed Plum Island and Salisbury beach every chance she could. Karen had a passion for horses and German shepherds. She loved riding her horse Dexter and caring for her 3 beloved German Shepard’s, Charger, Shannon and Dakota.
Karen was a devote Christian and was strong in her faith. She was active in her church and shared the good news of Jesus with everyone she could. Karen loved all people and was a blessing to so many.
Karen loved her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Sunday afternoon, September 9th from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 4 o’clock. After the service everyone is invited to a gathering at Melissa’s home, 1 Wissahickon Drive in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to Gate City Church Missions, 8 Franklin Street, Nashua, NH 03064.
