Kenneth Philip Moriarty, 90, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness.

     A son of the late Denis and Amanda (Caron) Moriarty, he was born in Nashua on April 18, 1925. Ken attended the former Sacred Heart School of St. Patrick Church and Nashua High School. In January of 1943 during his senior year, he enlisted in the Navy and served as a Seaman First Class in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharge in April 1946.

     After the war, Ken worked as a tractor trailer driver for the former Blue Line Express and then was supervisor of the warehouse for the former Indian Head Millwork Company for 28 years. Mr. Moriarty completed his career at Sanders Associates and its successor Lockheed Martin, retiring in the 1990s.

    Ken married Alda M. DeJesus on July 9, 1949. They raised five children and were active members of the Lowell Senior Center and enjoyed dancing to Country Western music. Mr. Moriarty was volunteer of the Boys Club of Nashua for twenty five years.

     Members of his family include his wife Alda, with whom he shared nearly 66 years of marriage; his children, Philip K. Moriarty of Nashua, Linda M. Moriarty and her partner Phil Caron of Manchester, Charlotte A. Moriarty and her partner Christine M. Freeman of Nashua, Daniel P. Moriarty and his wife Victoria of Nashua and Frank Moriarty and his wife Lucille of Northwood; eight grandchildren, Jude L. Little, Jesse J. Little, Cookie A. Prive, Lee F. Moriarty, Michael K. Moriarty, Jeffrey Williams, Timothy Mullikin and Kelly Mullikin Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Dominick Prive, Adeline Moriarty-Golon, Ryan and Dylan Joseph; a sister, Maery CaCase of Wauwatosa, WS; sister-in-law, Ida Fernandes of Nashua; also nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Moriarty and a sister, Denise Russ.

     Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Sunday afternoon May 31st from 2 to 5 p.m. A Graveside Service and Navy Honors will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3 in Boscawen, Monday afternoon, June 1st at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
