I just heard today about Lee when at Market Basket, I asked why I had not seen her in a month. I am so sorry for your loss and for those of us that shopped at Market Basket using the Express line. She would make my day with her great smile and quick wit. I am very sad that I will not see her and speak to her again. Lee was often the brightest light in my day. I am very sorry for your loss.

She was incredibly generous with her love to me and my boys and for that I'm forever grateful. I will miss her smile, laugh, and welcome every time I saw her. She will be greatly missed and my heart breaks for this tragic loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I've known Lee (and Doug) since the late 70's when we all lived in the same Nashua condo community, Coburn Woods .... in fact it was Doug who approved our mortgage loan! Lee was the overall manager of our Customer Service Group at DECdirect and I will say that she was the best manager I've ever had in my long working career. She genuinely cared about her employees and was friendly to everyone. She always seemed to handle with ease the day to day issues/problems because of her natural managing skills and great communication....she ensured that all her employees were appreciated and our off site get togethers were always fun and entertaining. I haven't seen Lee in years since I'm no longer living in NH, but she was a memorable person in my life and will never be forgotten. I send my thoughts and sympathy to her entire family.

I just learned of Lee's passing. My condolences to her family and friends. I always went through her register at Market Basket. I loved seeing the different eyeglasses she'd wear. Lee always looked like a million bucks and could always be counted on to " Tell it like it is". She will certainly be missed. Rest in Peace my friend.

Oh no, so sad. I just heard this in church today. I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Lee when we both worked at DecDirect in the late 80's and also saw her later at Jared's baseball games when he was on teams with my son. I always like Lee from the day we met. She was funny and always had a smile for everyone, even when she was handling a problem client on the phone. She always made everyone feel welcome. I will miss her and her always smiling face. Prayers to you all.

Hello, my name is Rita. I shop at Market Basket, and I always go through the quick check out line on Fridays when I pick up a few items. I look forward to seeing Lee, who always has a friendly smile for me (and everyone!) I would enjoy a casual conversation with her, or just wish her a nice day. She was so pleasant, helpful and friendly, even when it was crazy busy! I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm sure you have many wonderful, loving memories of her to cherish. Blessings to your family.

I'm sorry to hear this. I remember how we always talked during lunch time when we both worked at Elm Street. She always made sure the kids had lunch, even if they couldn't pay for it. I'd see her often in Market Basket and she was always so happy. She will be missed.

Lee was a beautiful woman. I met her as a little girl growing up on Ledgewood Drive in Danvers. She was always kind to me and let her sister Cindy and I have her bedroom for sleepovers. She took us for ice creams all the time and instilled the love of Beatles music and all things “flower power” and peace in our heads. She will be greatly missed. ❤️

My goodness where to begin. I met Lee in 1982. She hired me and we had a friendship. I enjoyed the parties with your parents and the juke box. I will always remember when she gave birth to you, Jared. She never wanted you to cry and held you all the time. Had a few dinners with her over the last few years with other folks around Christmas time. Last one Dec 21. After Doug passed her life’s mission was to be there for you Always (of course she already was) but became ever more present. I’m so glad she was able to see you grow to the man you are. She watched you marry and be in medical school. Hold on to all those memories. You now have another angel watching over you.

Hello, I’m Katie, I’ve worked at Market Basket for almost 4 years. Lee trained me when I first started working at Market Basket, and boy can I say she was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I recently left, however I always made sure to go in weekly and see her. She always cared about everyone she met deeply, and continuously made sure that I was doing well. She would always make sure to stand and talk to me to check in and make sure that I continued to do well in college, ask about all the college kid drama, and talk about anything and everything, (even if it was holding up the line). She will be so incredibly missed, and all my love goes to you and your family at this time.

Jared and Family, I am so sorry for this great loss. Your mom was always one of the safest and nicest people to talk to. I remember many times that she helped us all as kids. She was ever present and kind to us, even when she didn’t know us well. There aren’t many school memories I have that she isn’t there for. I am sorry for your loss and I hope that you find some peace between the waves of other emotions.

I am so sorry to you and your family. I worked at elm St with Lee for a long time. She was so witty and I so enjoyed working with her. I just saw her at the market, I went through her register. She was a wonderful lady.

Lissette Medina said : Guest Report Sep 21, 2023 at 11:38 AM

Hello, my name is Lissette, and i’m so sorry for your loss. I knew Lee from market basket. She trained me my first few weeks on the register and I always looked forward to work knowing she was training me. We always laughed, she made the best jokes, she had her little code sheet for produce she couldn’t remember and she even gave me it. She was the nicest person. I worked there for 3 years and after I quit, I always went in to say hi to Lee. I would always go through her line and talk with her. Or I would walk her to her car. She was the best human I’ve ever met. I’m truly sorry and I can say everyone will miss her.
