SMART, VIRGINIA M.

   Leon F. Smart, Jr., 80, of Nashua, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 11, 2022 after a period of declining health. His beloved wife Virginia M. (Ouellette) Smart, passed away August 5th.        

    Born in Nashua on September 19, 1941, he was the only child of the late Leon F. and Barbara E. (Caldwell) Smart. Educated in local schools, Leon was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1959.

    Leon began his career as a foreman at The Bronze Craft Corporation, then worked at Coca Cola and later at Nashua Corporation.

    A loving husband of 60 years to Mom, they were childhood sweethearts. Leon and Virginia had four loving children, building their home and family together. He loved classic hot rod cars and western wear. The love of his Border Collie dogs, yard, pool and the Big Silver painted rock.  

    In his leisure time, Leon enjoyed Target shooting with his children, sitting watching boxing together. Dancing with Mom, feeding the birds, Disney movies with his grandchildren. Rest your head softly Dad with Mom, your love story we will always carry in our hearts.

   Members of his family include two sons, Ricky Lee Smart and his wife Sharon, and Kenneth Michael Smart and his girlfriend Brandy; two daughters, Leanne Barbara Barcelos and her husband Raymond, and Laurie Lynn Frenette and her husband Richard; six grandchildren, the late Ashley Nicole Drolet Barcelos, Meaghan Marie Barcelos, Kyle Jonathan Smart, Nicholas Lee Smart, Corey Frenette and Kylee Frenette; three great-grandchildren; also nieces, nephews and cousins.

    There will be no formal services at this time. Donations may be made in his memory to Future in Sight, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301. Ricky and Leanne, my condolences to your family on your recent losses. Your Grandpa was married to my mother and we visited your family a few times. Take comfort in knowing they are in God's memory.

I am so sorry for the loss of these 2 beautiful souls, I dont know this family but i was on here reading my uncle Gerald Jalberts and came across this one, that for sure is True LOVE.. God bless there souls,... Fly High.

My dad , my big strong hero that could do anything, you have taught us children how to be kind, reach out to others in need, to work hard for what you want and you shall deserve, the love of you heart❤️ U gave mom is so etched in our ❤️, what a wonderful life you both have given us, I will miss our silly selfies and all our special talks, the time we sat on our front stoop and you teaching me how to whistle with my fingers, I love you so much dad and mom our lives will never be full without you again, rest softly DaddyO with mom and Ashley, your perfect love story we will never forget, god bless you and mom❤️😇🐻
