Marjorie T. “Margie” Smith, 86, of Nashua, died Sunday evening, May 17, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Margie was a life-long resident of Nashua, with her husband George and family.
Born in Nashua on May 22, 1928 a daughter of the late Theodore H. and Lena A. (Edwards) Trudel. Margie was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1946 and attended the former Nashua Business College. A homemaker almost of her life, Margie was dedicated to her family and raising her children, while keeping the house as spotless as on could imagine.
Before her Parkinson’s took over, Margie loved her needlecrafts, reading, watching gospel music DVDs and westerns on TV, and spending time with her sisters and brothers.
Margie is survived by her husband of 66 years, George J. Smith whom she married in October 1948; her daughters, Jennifer Smith of Manchester, NH and Lucy Ann Smith of Easton, MA; one granddaughter, Chelsea Smith of Nashua; her sister, Barbara Francoeur and her husband Normand of Raymond, NH; and brothers, Theodore H. “Ted” Trudel Jr. and his wife Lee of Nashua and Richard Trudel and his wife Carol of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister-n-law, Therese D. Trudel of Nashua; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margie was predeceased by her daughter Cindy at a very young age; her sister Doris O’Neil and her husband James; and her brother Arthur E. Trudel.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. The family will be holding a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
