LePage, Martha A.

Martha A. LePage, 72, of Nashua, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Friday, June 17, 2022.

Born in Nashua on September 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Norman A. and Frances M. (Keenan) LePage. Educated in local schools, Martha graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1967 and Moore General Hospital.

A registered nurse, Martha worked for many years at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center (formerly Nashua Memorial Hospital) both as a unit nurse and then a Dialysis Nurse. She retired from DaVita Dialysis in 2012.

Traveling was one of Martha’s great pleasures. She enjoyed planning trips to far flung places and brought her mom to China, Russia and Egypt as well and on many cruise vacations. A love of the ocean led her to scuba diving and she earned the status of Dive Master. She greatly enjoyed the Maine seacoast and frequently dove at the Nubble Lighthouse and whenever possible in the Caribbean Islands. Martha took her only nephew and niece on trips as well, introducing them to some of their first travel experiences.

Compromised health issues prevented Martha from the travel and diving trips she so loved in recent years. Filling in that gap was her devotion to her rescue poodle who was her steadfast companion until passing last year.

Members of her family include James and Debra LePage of Camano Island, WA, Adam LePage of Shoreline, WA, Aimee LePage and her husband Jaimy Waters, and her beloved great niece, Elsie, also of Shoreline, WA. Martha also leaves behind her dear friend, Linda Dannewitz of Hudson, NH, a long-time nurse colleague, diving partner and travel companion.

There will be a private graveside service at the convenience of her family in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Home Health & Hospice (www.hhhc.org). We thank the nurses, OT and PT for their kind and professional care of Martha over the years. Martha loved going to Shorty’s with her friends. To celebrate Martha’s life, please raise a Margarita in her memory. She would love that. Please except my deepest condolences . I had the pleasure of working in dialysis with Martha she was one in 1 million. She was one of the most compassionate and caring nurses that I have ever met in my life and it was obvious that she truly loved caring for her patients I remember when her mother passed away and she told me that the funeral mass was going to be held at Saint Christopher Parish in Nashua which is my parish. She said to me I would like to play a song called I just called to say I love you at the eulogy at the end of the mass but I don’t know if it will be allowed in the Catholic Church. And I said to Martha Martha that’s my parish the regular priest is on vacation he won’t be back in time to do the funeral mass so we have a fill-in priest and I know him very well I will just tell him at the end of the mass, that when the eulogy is being said that you have a special song that meant the world to your mother. Relative Who lived far away would play that song when they called her on the phone. So the long and the Shot of the story is she got to play that song and it was a beautiful ceremony so I will never forget how I brightened Martha’s day to let her know she was in like Flynn and we could pull this off. May we all cherish the wonderful memories of Martha and the kind soul that she was. She truly made a difference in the lives of many many many patients and for that we’ve all been blessed to know Martha. May she rest in peace and may we always remember that compassion and kindness goes a long way because that’s the motto that Martha always had.
