  AMHERST – Mary V. (Lockard) Horn, 84, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 26, 1939. Mary attended Most Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and West Catholic Girls High School, graduating in 1957. She was the first person in her family to attend and graduate from college, beginning at Immaculata College in 1957 and completing her bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University in 1982.       

   Mary and her husband Richard lived in Amherst for over 50 years where they raised six children. She was passionate about education and volunteered her time to related causes as well as her catholic faith community. Later in life, she and her husband ran a successful property management company and enjoyed traveling to local and distant destinations.   

     She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Richard “Dick” Horn and daughters Kathleen, Denise and Marlene. Mary is survived by three children,  Lorraine Katz (Stuart), Patricia Dion (Patrick) and Jeffrey Horn and Siriporn Lathrop; three grandchildren, Eric, and Brian (Meaghan) and Daniel Katz; as well as brother-in-law, Kenneth Horn (Carol); sister-in-law, Catherine Chin (William) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

     A wake will be held on Tuesday. August 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua followed by the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Parish, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH. Was unable to go to services but prayers for Mary and family. Many fond memories of Mary. Renee
