Maurice J. Freitas, 53, of Nashua, New Hampshire passed away Wednesday evening, August 5, 2015. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was the son of Margaret (Hopkins) Harper Freitas and the late J. Maurice Freitas.

Maurice grew up in Lowell and attended local schools. He later moved to Woburn, MA, where he resided for eight years before permanently moving to New Hampshire in 1992. Maurice had a long career in professional painting and eventually became a co-owner of A-Z Painting alongside his nephew, Michael Boisvert. In addition to being a hardworking individual, he was a family man. Maurice was incredibly proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and made everyone around him smile. He enjoyed listening to country music, being a DJ for Second Life, and country and line dancing. He and a partner had even made it to the national line dancing competition in Nashville, TN. Maurice also liked cooking, camping, and watching his New England sports teams. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Keri A. Horne & her husband Zachary of Nashua, NH and Nicole M. Hudson and her husband David of Camp Lejeune, NC; six grandchildren, Kaden Bedient, Honour-Rose Freitas, Annabella Horne, Molly Breen, Maddie Hudson, and Maycie Hudson; seven siblings, Barry W. & Theresa Harper of Texas, Jeri L. & Michael Gaffney of Methuen, MA, Trudy A. & Albert Boisvert of Nashua, Kathleen M. & Douglas Schauncer of Derry, Raymond Freitas & significant other Christine McCarthy Robichaud of Methuen, MA, Lisa M. Fernandes & significant other V. Derrick Pirozzi of Nashua, and Wayne A. Freitas of RI; a sister-in-law Kelly Freitas; four nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday August 12th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit brook Road, Nashua, NH 03062. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
