Michael T. Breen, 90, longtime resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021 at the Community Hospice House of Merrimack.  He was born in New Haven, CT on August 22, 1931 to his late parents, Thomas J. Breen Sr., and Mary (Tracy) Nassetta.  After graduating from high school, like so many of his generation, Michael proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

After Michael was honorably discharged from the military, he settled in Hyattsville, MD to raise his family.  Believing in the value of a secondary education, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from the University of Maryland with the Class of 1967.  During the mid-1970’s he and his family relocated to Nashua where he worked for many years as an electrical engineer until his retirement.  Michael enjoyed the many simple pleasures of life; collecting CD’s, music and had a strong lifelong passion for reading.

Michael is survived by his beloved bride Joann (Cheeks) Breen with whom they shared over 71 years of marriage together.  They were wed in a simple ceremony on June 2, 1950, prior to him deploying overseas.  He was the cherished father to his children; Michael P. Breen and Marie E. Pierce, both of Nashua.  Michael was the proud grandfather of three and great-grandfather of seven.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his son John E. Breen and his brother Thomas J. Breen Jr.

To honor Michael’s wishes, all services will be privately held.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to either the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
