Mildred Mary McLaughlin, 96, of Nashua, widow of Bernard J. McLaughlin, passed away at her home, Monday evening, June 26, 2017 with her loving and caring family.
A resident of Nashua for the past 60 years, Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Woonsocket, RI, August 17, 1920, a daughter of the late James and Katherine (Larkin) Brand. “Millie” grew up in Woonsocket, RI and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1937. She worked for a time as a line supervisor with the former New England Telephone and Telegraph in Rhode Island.
Millie was a devoted wife and mother, who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an active communicant of St. Christopher Church, where she volunteered in many ways such as providing CCD instruction for special children, providing mercy meals for parishioners of the church, as well as providing needed support to the parish. She also loved dancing and music of The Big Band era and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. She loved her family and was blessed with many long term friends with whom she remained in contact.
In addition to her parents, Millie was predeceased by her husband “Bernie,” her brothers Francis and James Brand, her sister Jean Panorese, granddaughter Madison McLaughlin, and her daughter in law Laurie McLaughlin.
Members of her family include her six children, Bernard J. McLaughlin Jr. and his partner Maryann Kerizes, Mary Jane Bayne and her husband John, Kathleen McLaughlin, Nancy Bulmer and her husband Donald, Carole McLaughlin, and Robert McLaughlin and his wife Karen; nine grandchildren; Eric McLaughlin his wife Jeannie, Brooke Wheeler and her husband Garry, Alexis LaCrosse and her husband Michael, Nicholas DiGeronimo and his wife Rachelle, Peter DiGeronimo, Sara Gans and her husband Joseph, Caitlin Lloyd and her husband Derek, Erin McLaughlin and Emily McLaughlin; great-grandchildren Andrue McLaughlin, Ava and Abigail LaCrosse, Everleigh Gans, Aiden Lloyd; a sister, Barbara Frayne; three brothers, Donald Brand, Kenneth Brand and Robert Brand; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday afternoon, June 29th from 2 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Home Health and Hospice Care. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. We volunteered with Millie and Bernie at St. Chris for many years--"back in the day". So many happy memories---thinking of her and her family today---God Bless!

Auntie Millie... She was so deeply loved by all of us, especially me. I will forever cherish her understanding and kindness, her infectious laugh and her approach to life. She will be forever missed.
