Myrtie Mae Burton, 94, of Hudson, widow of Paul F. Burton, passed away early Friday morning, April 1, 2022 at The Inn at Fairview in Hudson.
A resident of Hudson for the past 67 years, Mrs. Burton was born in Nashua on May 17, 1927, a daughter of the late George E. and Myrtie (Lawrence) Marshall. Educated in local schools, Myrtie was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1945.
As a young woman, Myrtie worked for a former shoe manufacturing business on Lake Street in Nashua. She then was employed in the electronics industry beginning with RCA in Billerica, MA, Sanders Associates, Inc. in Nashua and later with Kollsman Instruments in Merrimack until she retired.
In her leisure time, Myrtie and her husband Paul enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the USA, Alaska and Canada. The couple enjoyed winters at their beautiful home in Port Charlotte, Florida for many years and also enjoyed boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and were members of the Seacoast Connections.
Myrtie was predeceased by her husband Paul, who passed away on New Year’s Day in 2019. They were married on July 5, 1949 and shared nearly 70 years together. She was also predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul K. and Joanne (Potter) Burton; her brothers, George E. Marshall Jr, Lawrence Marshall and Harry Marshall; and her sisters, Dorothy Dube and JoAnn Worth.
Members of her family include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Arthur McCann, JoAnn M. Smith and Kelly and Norman Nantel all of Hudson; six grandchildren, Jason Burton and his wife Donna of Holly Springs, NC, Lisa Toomey-Klein and her husband Tim of Nashua, Katie Toomey-Lindsay and her husband Sean of Newton, MA, J.J. McCann II and his significant other, Tara King, and Amanda McCann allof Nashua, and Jenna Quigley and her husband Todd of Plymouth, MA; nine great-grandchildren, Abbie, Emma and Nathan Burton, Matthew, Ben and Libby Kate Klein, Matthew Paul Butt, and Andrew and Gabriel Lindsay; her sister, Alice LaClair of Port Charlotte, FL; also many nieces and nephews.
