Nancy (Carson) Perling, a resident of Burlington, MA and formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, December 30, 2015. Nancy was born in Oneida, New York on May 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Arthur and Loreeta (White) Carson. She was predeceased by her sister, Rita Jane Olcott and brothers, Thomas and John Carson.
Nancy was married to her soulmate William G. Perling, also of Oneida, NY, for 32 tender loving years. William passed away suddenly in 1986. Together they had four children, Anne and her husband Scott Bretz of Nevada, TX, Richard of Melrose, MA, James of Bernardsville, NJ and Jean and her husband Todd Mandirola of Somers, CT. Nancy was also a grandmother to Zachary and Jessie Mandirola, Danny Lucas Jr., and William and John Perling; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Perling worked for AT& T in Nashua for 22 years as a business representative where she received numerous awards for her dedication and work ethic. Nancy was always a mother and homemaker first even during her working years tending to everyone’s needs before her own. After her husband passed, Nancy remained independent in her own home for many years. Having had a stroke at the age of 50, Nancy personified the “Greatest Generation” with courage and determination and addressing life’s difficulties. She overcame her stroke related communication limitations with grace, intelligence and humor. Nancy was a devout Catholic and a kind, loving and giving spirit. She greatly enjoyed being with small children and found joy in their innocence and wonder. Nancy will be best remembered by her gracious demeanor and her signature saying of “Happy Happy!” She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her and left her sweet legacy with many people.
