What a wonderful person she was. Had her for 7th grade History in the Spring Street building. In the first confusing days of middle school she was always calm, caring, and reassuring. Years later, on other life's adventures, I'd reflect on her guiding spirit and feel the rush of serenity. Hats off for the lives she tenderly touched. And yet, when needed, she could lay down the law without hesitation. Thanks for being on my life's path. You did the world a great service. RIP and deepest condolences to the family.

Mrs. Desautels was my 7th grade History teacher back in 1984/84. She was also my homeroom teacher. I absolutely loved her. We all know that 12/13 yr olds are not generally an easy age group to work with, but she did it every day with a smile. I can still picture what her classroom looked like at Spring Street Jr High. I just recently found a report I did for her and it brought back such memories. We were doing a unit on Ancient Greece and I did a paper about Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt. I remember one day towards the end of the school year, probably June, it was an extremely hot day. She had brought a large box fan into the class room and pointed it towards the students. The lights were out, and we carried on with the lesson. About 16 yrs ago, I ran into Mrs Desautels at Hannaford Supermarket in Nashua. She remembered my face, but not my name. To even remember my face....after all those years, was awesome of her. Especially since I was almost 39 at the time. My prayers go out to Mrs Desautels' family. She was a wonderful woman remembered by many of her former students.

So sad to hear of her passing. My friend and I would stop to talk when she was outside in her yard. She was especially kind to me when I lost my husband. Shared stories that were so nice. Will miss seeing Pauline. Condolences to the family.
