DORIS, PHILIP A

Philip A. Doris, 74, of Milford passed away suddenly on Monday, December 9th, after a brief illness. Phil will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, his accepting nature and his killer sense of humor. Born in Nashua and a 1968 graduate of Nashua High School, Phil lived in Milford with his wife of 54 years, Jeanie, and their beloved German Shepherd.

Phil was a very talented manufacturing engineer who led a storied career of 27 years at Bose Corporation, where he won two President’s Awards. His retirement from Bose was short-lived and his love of work lead him to conclude his career at Merrimack Manufacturing and DEKA earlier this year.

Phil began his education at the Nashua Vocational Technical College, eventually earning his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Lowell Tech and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rivier University.

Phil was a Vietnam-Era Air Force Veteran who had a zest for life. He enjoyed camping, working on his cars, his many dogs, time on his tractor and time with his family. Anyone who met Phil liked him.

Phil is survived by his wife, Jeanie (Stearns), sons Jamie and Nathan, grandson Jack, sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Ray Noel; sister-in-law, Cathi (Stearns) Prunier; brother-in-law, Tim and his wife Roni; as well as many nephews and a niece. Phil is predeceased by his parents, Marguerite (Gauthier) and Arthur Sr., and his brother, Arthur Jr.

Services were held for the immediate family with a celebration of life to be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philip A. Doris’ name to the Animal Rescue League of NH 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.

The Farwell Funeral Service, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, assisted the family with arrangements. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.farwellfuneralservice.com

I worked with Phil at Bose. I recall him arriving into work on his Harley or BMW roadster. He looked refreshed and enlivened after his commute, rather than tired. And I remember thinking, there’s a guy that enjoys life. He had an easy way about him. A soft smile. Never raised his voice. Quietly and efficiently, got the job done. My condolences to Phil’s family. I’m sure he will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
