Raeolyn M. (Otis) Korn, 88, of Nashua and formerly of Dover, widow of Arthur O. Korn, Jr., passed away Monday evening, March 4, 2024 at Mount Carmel Rehab and Nursing Center in Manchester, after a period of declining health.
Born in Dover on June 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ellen Otis. Raeolyn was a graduate of Dover High School Class of 1953 and attended a beautician school.
A resident of Nashua since 1958, Raeolyn and her family made their home on Terry Street for many years. Some of her happiest times were with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as “Gee” to many, she connected well with children given her playful and kind spirit. She was exceptionally beloved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raeolyn was an avid reader, a talented quilter, an animal lover (especially cats) and enjoyed trips to the beach where she rode the waves on a boogie board well into her 70s. She worked out daily (well before it was cool), enjoyed Dunkins coffee and her time at the family camp at Baboosic Lake where you could find her swimming and ice skating.
Raeolyn and her husband Arthur were married on June 10, 1956 and shared 40 years together until his passing on October 30, 1996. Members of her family include her sons and daughters-in-law, Kurt A. and Beth Korn of Portsmouth and Arthur O. III and Kathleen Korn of Brookline; four grandchildren, Amy Johonnett and her husband Jay, Kevin Korn and his wife Julie, Krista Korn and Jake Korn and his wife Nichole; her great-grandchildren, Anna and Jack Johonnett, twins Kristina and Katie Korn, Kellie Korn, Allie Korn and Blake Korn; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Raeolyn was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
