Raymond G. Page, 83, of Alexandria, NH and formerly of Nashua, passed away Wednesday evening, November 4, 2015 at Elliott Hospital in Manchester after a period of declining health.
A son of the late Felix and Alberta (Perron) Page, he was born in Keene on December 12, 1931. Ray grew up in Nashua and was educated in local schools.
Mr. Page had been employed with the former Beebe Rubber Company for over twenty five years, working his way up to the position of supervisor. He served for a time as President of the Rubber Workers Union, local 570.
In the 1970s, Ray and his wife Lillian I. (Corriveau) Page moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where they owned and operated the “The Kings Rest” motel for 13 years. The couple returned to New Hampshire in 2001 and made their home in Alexandria for the past 14 years. His wife Lillian passed away on September 17th of this year after sharing 63 years of marriage.
Ray enjoyed a number of interests and hobbies including crossword puzzles, American history, making wooden crafts and furniture and painting with oils and pastels. He also enjoyed fishing at Shell Camp Lake. Known for his culinary talents; Ray loved baking cookies and muffins his friends and family. While residing in Nashua, Ray had been actively involved in fundraisers for Mount Hope School.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was predeceased by a brother, O’Neil Page and his sister, Florence Page.
Members of his family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Pastor Steven Cardin of Alaska and Janis E. and William Byrd of Nashua; a son, Steven Page and his longtime companion Rose Vattes of Belmont, NH; six grandchildren, Bonny Bowles, Holly McLean, Joshua Cardin, Sean Collenberg, Laura Byrd and Lisa Byrd; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Page and his wife Rose of Nashua; a half-sister, Margaret Page of Nashua; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine Hill Avenue, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 11:15 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
