Raymond W. “Sonny” Wynott, 91, of Nashua, passed away Monday afternoon, February 10, 2020 at the Courville at Nashua after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of this city, he was born on December 15, 1928, a son of the late Lawrence R. and Lilie E. (Leard) Wynott. Educated in Nashua schools, Sonny was employed at Sprague Electric Company as head of maintenance for over forty years.
An active outdoorsman, Sonny enjoyed fishing, clam-digging and hunting. In October 1951, Sonny married Joan E. Rowell and they made their home on Greenwood Drive where they raised their four children. The couple shared 47 years together until Joan’s passing on January 4, 1999.
He was also predeceased by a son, Kevin R. Wynott; his brother, Lawrence R. Wynott Jr. and his wife Nancy; his sister, Sylvia L. “Sibby” Wynott; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Krasucki.
Members of his family include his children, Dennis W. Wynott and his wife Sandra, Shawn M. Wynott, and Carol L. Duncanson and her husband Daniel; four grandchildren, Keith Wynott and his wife Ashley, Amber Krasucki and her husband John, Jessica Mathews and her significant other Shandell, and Katie Wynott; four great-grandchildren, Colby, Hunter, Nevaeh and Kiley; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Saturday, February 22nd from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by a service at 4 o’clock.
