Regina E. Gilbreth, 88, of Merrimack, widow Donald P. Gilbreth, passed away early Friday morning, February 1, 2019 after a lengthy period of declining health.
Mrs. Gilbreth was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 21, 1930, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (O’Neil) Banks. A resident of Weymouth, MA for thirty years, Regina was a graduate of Weymouth High School Class of 1948 and furthered her education at the Chandler School for Woman in Boston, graduating in 1949.
Regina began her career as a customer service representative with Beebe, Blakely and Forbes, a Boston insurance agency for eight years and continued with Byam Brothers – Mahoney Insurance Agency of Lowell, MA for many years until her retirement.
Regina and her husband Donald, were married on July 31, 1954 and made their home in Weymouth and North Chelmsford, MA for a number of years; then in Sebring, Florida for a year and later resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Barry Rowe of Merrimack for 19 years.
In her leisure time, Regina was an avid reader, loved music and theater productions.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Donald P. Gilbreth, who passed away June 13, 1996.
Members of her family include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Philip J. Gilbreth of Merrimack and Bradford W. and Linda Gilbreth of North Chelmsford, MA; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Barry Rowe of Merrimack; three grandchildren, Jason Rowe and his significant other, Maureen Armstrong of Leominster, MA, Amy Gilbreth and Derek Gilbreth both of North Chelmsford, MA; and a great-granddaughter, Violet Nora Rowe.
A private funeral service will be held in the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME on Friday. Interment will take place at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack in the Spring. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 South River Road #210, Bedford, NH 03110.
