In 1966 my parents and I (11 yrs old) moved in upstairs over Art & Reta they instantly treated us just like family and that is how the entire Balser family still feels about them. Art shocked Reta by telling her he had rented the 2 bdrm apartment to a couple with 5 sons and a daughter! Reta, luckily had a great sense of humor. She was a devoted wife and told me to someday find someone to marry who would be my best friend because that is what she had done when she married Art. If you look at Jeff, Randy, Brian and Jodi today you can tell what a great mom she was. Do not mourn her passing, celebrate her life ! With Love!

I haven’t seen Mrs. Shepherd for better than 40 years but I so remember the kindness she showed me every time I showed up at her Hill St home. She was so welcoming to me and all us neighborhood kids. My condolences go out to Mr. Shepherd, Jeff, Randy, Brian, Jodi and their entire extended family. I’m very sorry for your loss.
