Richard William Flisak, 91, of Nashua passed away Tuesday morning, June 21, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital, after a period of declining health.
A resident of Nashua for many years, he was born in Salem, Massachusetts on September 6, 1930, a son of the late Anthony and Honora (Meisser) Flisak. Richard was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1947 and furthered his education through college courses, EMT training and was a CPR instructor.
Richard worked as a chemist for UPACO Adhesives in Nashua, NH and continued his career at Union Specialty of Newburyport, MA until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 5472, a communicate of Parish of the Resurrection, and enjoyed 20 years of volunteer work at St. Joseph’s hospital in Nashua, gardening, traveling, dancing and cooking.
Members of his family include his wife of 38 years, Patricia C. (Miller) Jenness Flisak; two step-sons, Stephen R. Jenness, Jr. and his wife Amy and Ernest W. Jenness and his wife Marychris; step-son-in-law, Christopher Hutchins; six grandchildren, Kate, Sam, Abby, Amy, Sarah, and Kyle; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Sawyer and Theodore. He leaves many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by a brother Edmund Flisak; two sisters, Louise Deacon and Aline Zmijewski; and step-daughter, Laura (Jenness) Hutchins.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Tuesday, July 12th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend.
