Robert A. “Bob” Maffee, died September 30, 2022 surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on March 31, 1953, in Nashua, NH son of the late Frank and Barbara (Anderson) Maffee.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Nashua.  He grew up working with his father and brothers at Maffee’s Garage.  While working at Maffee’s, Bob became well known as a foreign car specialist.  He met many fellow mechanics in the trade and never missed the opportunity to learn from them or help them out whenever possible.  Bob forged many lifelong friendships while at Maffee’s.  Many of those years, the lights were on, and the doors were unlocked throughout the evenings and into the early morning hours.  Given those circumstances, the shop served as a “home away from home” for many.

In 1983, Bob left the family business and founded Northern Foreign Car Parts.  Bob faced many obstacles early on at Northern, but through perseverance, and years of hard work, he grew NFCP into the successful business it is today.  He earned the respect of those who knew him in the automotive industry.

Bob was a quiet, humble, generous individual.   He was always willing to lend a hand and help when asked and did so without expecting any recognition.

Bob enjoyed his annual visits to Aruba, where he was able to unwind and enjoy beautiful weather and beaches.  He had many close friends that live on the island and looked forward to seeing them each visit.

When Bob wasn’t working at his business, he could usually be found working in his yard, gardening, or manicuring his lawn, which he enjoyed very much.

Bob enjoyed sports and for many years, found time to coach youth baseball.  He began coaching in the Nashua North Little League in 1972, at the age of 19.  At various times over the next three decades, Bob coached numerous championship teams.  He met many people through his involvement in youth baseball.  Some of whom became close friends for the remainder of his life.  During his tenure as a coach, he was well respected by coaches, umpires, and players, and he set a great example for the young players he coached.

Bob was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge #39 F & AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Nashua and NH Consistory 32nd degree and the Shriners of NH.  He was also a member of the First Church of Nashua, UCC.

Bob was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Margaret Maffee and by his sister, Sandra Labonte.

He leaves behind his siblings: Dorothy and Ronald Gauthier, Thomas Maffee, Carol Maffee, Carla and Robert Pelletier, Barbara and Thomas Burnham, Leslie Maffee, Steven Maffee, Paula Alton, Sharon and Thomas Dion, a brother-in-law, Gerard Labonte and several nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday, October 7th from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held in The First Church, One Concord Street, Nashua, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. A reception will follow the service in Fellowship Hall. Friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bob to the Shriners Children Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA  01104 or Home & Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH  03054. So sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. I always enjoyed our exchanges, brief as they may have been, on my visits to Northern Foreign ... usually on a Saturday. A very smart guy, a true gentleman, and representative of the entire Maffee family.

I am saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. I used to call on Maffee’s Garage over 30 years ago when I was a sales rep for Bailey Distributing Corp. Bob, along with his dad and his brothers always treated me like family rather than a salesman. Bob always had a big smile and he was so easy to laugh with. I used to make them my last call on Friday as they always put me in a great mood. I’ll always remember Bob for his kindness and good nature and for being so nice to me. Rest in Peace Bob!

To the Maffee family, Our hearts go out to all of you as you have to say goodbye to your brother. Our early years moving to the Nashua area was made so much easier because there was always a Maffee to help us at every turn. We still think of your mother every April 29th! Bob was so easy to talk to. He will be missed by many. Our deepest sympathies to all of you.

One can tell by the many condolence messages on this site just how well thought of and important Bobby was to us! Not a day went by when his infectious smile and laugh and light-hearted nature would mean so much. Think Maffee! Think of all the Maffee family as a huge and solid thread of the fabric of Nashua…for all time! Bobby’s business acumen and integrity remain along with his generous spirit! RIP…

I met Bob, Tom and Don in 1974 when I worked at the Stable Pub. They would come in on Friday nights and I was madly in love with Bob but one night while eating chinese in Milford my dog who was left in Bob's car pooped all over his back seat. We all know how Bob felt about his cars.....he dumped me and my dog after that.....I moved to Florida...life went on ... when I saw the obit I cried. At one time I had hoped we would be together forever but we were young and it wasn't meant to be Love you Bob...RIP

To all of the family: A great amount of time and decades have passed. But from the days of delivering your daily telegraph newspaper, to being an assistant to my Dad in the Nashua North Bambino League (having the great rivalries with Bob and his team) to stopping by when we'd ride our bikes by the repair shop to say hello and then buying parts from the all time favorite import store in town for our Toyota's . Your family have always been a godsend. There are no words to take away the pain, and much time has passed. I will never forget one of the greatest families I've ever met. May the comfort of family and friends, the great memories and the kind words said in these coming days from all, help you all get thru this tough time. May God give you all strength and know he's rejoicing in eternal life now. So sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the entire Maffee family as I am so saddened to learn of his passing. Coach was one of the most influential people in my life. I played for him for four years on a city championship team where he taught me the life lessons that I still employ today. And CJ said it--he did it all with a quiet demeanor that was so unique and that in itself was another way he taught us all. Coach made such a positive impact in my life and so glad I got a chance to thank him in person a few years ago so that he knew what a positive force he was in my life, and I know he influenced so many more. Coach was simply one of the greatest men I have ever known and I was so lucky to have had him in my life. Thank you Coach! RIP

To the Maffee family. I was saddened and so sorry to hear about the passing of Bob. I am grateful I had the opportunity to work for him and with members of your family at Northern. He treated all with respect and set an example for all by his hard work, knowledge, and dedication to the business. He always had “that” smile and lived by what seems to be a Maffee family credo – always very willing to offer help to others, but never looking for anything in return. May your fond memories of Bob sustain you during this difficult time and bring you comfort. For a life well lived and a friend to so many, may you rest in peace Bob.

Growing up, the Maffee residence and Maffee's garage were a second home to me. Bob was the older brother I never had. We spent countless hours at the Boston Garden, Rye Beach and just hanging around at the garage. There was one constant when in his presence. Laughter. Every memory I have of Bob involves the two of us laughing. He had a great laugh and a great sense of humor. My heart breaks for the whole Maffee family because I know what a special brother, uncle and friend that he was. His family and friends always came first. Rest in peace Bobby. We are all going to miss you.
