Robert Joseph Fay, Sr., born to the late Francis Fay and Eva Fontaine Fay, formally of Fall River, Ma, died on December 19, 2016 at the age of 79 years old. He accomplished much in his lifetime. Robert, “ Bob” attended Msgr. Prevost High School, graduating the class of 1957. He was an athlete his entire life, captain of the basketball and baseball varsity teams. He was inducted into the Prevost Athletic Hall of Fame. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Lavoie, who predeceased him. Bob was an avid golfer, bowler, and loved dancing. He especially loved the beach and he was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield,NH. He was a member of the Souhegan golf league and a competitor in the Merrimack Ten Pin bowling league. He continued to love sports and cheered on the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. Bob served eight years in the National Guard, worked for Globe Manufacturing in Fall River, MA. He later moved his family to Litchfield, NH and worked for Wang Labs. Bob is survived by his three children: Nadine Pimental and her husband Carlos Pimental and their son, Joshua Cabral of Fall River, MA; his son, Robert Joseph Fay,Jr., his wife Sherry Fay and their two daughters, Miranda and Avery Fay of Litchfield, NH; his daughter, Stephanie Reimers and her husband, Charles “Chuck” Reimers and their two children, Suriana and Calder Reimers of Dixmont, ME, his identical twin brother, Donald Fay and his wife, Dorothy Fay of Nashua, NH, and his sister Constance “Connie” Caron of Tiverton, RI. Bob had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He also had two brothers who predeceased him, Albert Fay and Frank “Sonny” Fay.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, NH. His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 29 at 11am at the Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Street in Fall River, Ma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
