Robert J. Walker, Jr., 65, died peacefully at his home in Nashua on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
A resident of Nashua for many years, Mr. Walker was born September 19, 1949 in Peabody MA, son of Despina (Rafael) Walker and the late Robert J. Walker, Sr.
Bob graduated from Nashua High School class of 1967, and earned an Associate Degree of Science in Business Administration at New England Aeronautical Institute in 1970. He was employed with Random House Publications for several years after which he became the Proprietor of THE BOOK SHOPPE at the Royal Ridge Mall and on Main Street in downtown Nashua.
As a result of his love for books and sharp memory, he became a great story teller. His great knowledge and wit always made any conversation more enjoyable.
During his youth, Bob excelled as a baseball pitcher. He was a man of many interests and passions. Among them were golfing, fishing, all genres of music. He was the lead guitarist in his band “The Hairy Mouthful”. Many people marveled at how much he looked like Paul McCartney of the Beatles! In his later years, Bob took up oil painting and took great pride presenting his original creations to family members and friends. Most important to Bob and what he cherished was time spent with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his mother Despina “Tess” Kopka and step father William Kopka of Nashua, a son Justin Senecal of Nashua, three brothers, Clinton Jay Walker, Richard Jay Walker, and Joseph Jay Walker and his wife Linda, all of Nashua; two sisters and brothers in law, Linda and Lesley Berry of Keene, NH and Debra and Dean Parks of Nashua, NH; also nieces and nephews, Leigh Berry of Peterborough, NH, Dr. Winter Berry and husband Keith Gallant of Manlius, NY, Jessica Ulery and husband Jonathan, Nicholas Psaradelis, Benjamin Levesque, Corey Walker, Kaley Walker, and Alyssa Walker, all of Nashua; also grandnieces and a nephew, Alexis Dukette, Chelsea Ulery, Taylor Ulery of Nashua and Reece Gallant of Manlius, NY.
SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. Bob, being a private person, wished to be cremated and have a private prayer service for the family only at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua.
