   Robert Rockwell Smith, 73, of Merrimack, husband of Linda M. (Boudreau) Smith, passed away Tuesday morning, June 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a period of declining health.      

    A longtime resident of Merrimack, he was born in Alabama on June 12, 1946, the son of the late Maurice and Mary (Algee) Smith. “Bob” was raised in Bangor, Maine and was a graduate of Bangor High School Class of 1964. He furthered his education at the University of Maine at Orono and earned his Master’s degree in engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

     Bob was employed as a software engineer with Sanders Associates, Inc. and their successor BAE Systems for many years.    

     In his leisure time, Bob loved riding motorcycles, camping, photography, going to theater productions and watching movies.  

    Members of his family include his beloved wife Linda,  whom he married June 20, 1970 and recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary; his sister, Mary Lou Dixon; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Bill MacArthur of Manchester, NH; nieces, Melissa Ward; Christine Randall and her husband David of Amesbury, MA; and Brenda Boudreau; grandnieces, Cassandra  Lewis, Katherine Denham of Amesbury, MA, Lauren Randall of Philadelphia, PA,  and Savannah Breen of Manchester.

    A private service will be held in the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME on Sunday.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
