Rose M. Garant, 88, a longtime Nashua resident, widow of Albert L. Garant, passed away early Friday morning, November 24, 2023 at the Courville at Nashua after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 21, 1935, she was one of eight children of the late Joseph G. and Eva G. (Correia) Fariz. Rose was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1953. She had been employed in the office of the Doehla Greeting Card Company in Nashua for many years.
She loved shopping, collecting pewter and antiques and going to auctions. Rose especially loved traveling to New York City to visit her son.
Rose and her husband Al were married on September 14, 1957 and shared 47 years together until his passing on November 7, 2004.
Members of her family include her loving son, granddaughters and great-granddaughter; three sisters, Lorraine M. Pelletier, Terry Huntley and her husband Douglas, and Diane Walton; a brother, James Fariz; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Joseph Fariz; a sister, Mary G. Fariz; sister-in-law, Pamela Fariz; and brothers-in-law, George R. Pelletier Jr. and David P. Walton.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Thursday, November 30th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Family and friends are invited to attend.
