Sharon E. (McQuinn) Blekitas, 73, of Nashua and formerly of Merrimack, wife of David J. Blekitas, passed away Saturday morning, November 11, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Born in Melrose, Massachusetts on October 24, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John E. and M. Jean (LeShana) McQuinn. Sharon was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Lynn, MA and furthered her education at Franklin Pierce College where she earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting.
Sharon had been employed as a Sales Account Representative with Balzers Process Systems and continued with Corfin Industries, LLC.
She was a member and Past President of the American Legion Post 98 Auxiliary of Merrimack and was a volunteer of the Boston Marathon – Jimmy Fund Walk for fourteen years. In her leisure time, Sharon enjoyed bowling, playing darts and was a sports fan of the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox.
Members of her family include her husband David, whom she married on April 18, 1992. Three daughters, Alison Hall and her husband Norman, Shannon Smith and Amy Belanger. Step-daughters, Jamie Lee Williams and her husband David, and Joey Lee Howe and her husband Kenneth. Nine grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Hall, Kyle, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Austin Smith, Kaleigh Marquis, Jaclyn Milillo and Isabella Belanger. Three great-grandchildren, Andrew Hall Jr., Haislei Hall and Bentley Roy. Three brothers, Richard McQuinn and his wife Deborah, Robert McQuinn and his wife Patricia, and Brian McQuinn and his wife Lisa. Sister-in-law, LuAnn (Blekitas) Soucy. Brother-in-law, Michael Blekitas and his wife Cyndi. Many nieces and nephews; and her dog and loving companion, Coti.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son, Eugene A. Basiliere Jr.; and her step-father, Joseph Bishop.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Tuesday evening, November 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Wednesday, November 15th at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church.
