Shirley Ellen (Whitten) Jolly, 88, of Chesterfield, Missouri and formerly of Nashua, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Delmar Gardens in Chesterfield. Shirley was the widow of Raymond L. Jolly. Mrs. Jolly was born in Nashua on May 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Clarence and Estella Irene (Read) Whitten. Educated in local schools, Shirley was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1948.

She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Pilgrim Chapter #55, Order of Eastern Star and a former member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Shirley was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. In her leisure time she loved knitting and was a Red Sox fan.

Shirley was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Kara Forward, Susan Rivers and her husband Edwin, Kathy Sullivan and her husband Frank, and Kevin Jolly and his wife Christine; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Caroline Tucker and husband Bruce; her brother, Richard Follansbee; also nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Raymond, who passed away in 1970. They were married on November 24, 1962.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Monday evening, June 25th from 6 to 9 p.m. A Graveside Service will take place at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street, Nashua, Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock. Friends are invited to attend. Those wishing to express their sympathy are urged to make memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 South River Road, Bedford, NH 03110.
