My deepest sympathies and prayers at the passing of Mr. Rogers. He was one of the adults deeply involved in the YMCA Youth and Government Program, in which I participated twice while in high school at Mount Saint Mary Seminary. He and attorney (later Judge) Sherman Horton were dynamite as our leaders, leading us and helping us learn so much from our participation. He was always such a wonderful man! I know he will be deeply missed by family and friends, but also by so many others whom he influenced as well.

Hello Margaret and Andrew - I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I was a member of the 1st NH Regiment in the 70s and early 80s - and as an early teen, he frequently let me ride with him to the events. He was one of most supportive members of the 1st NH when I was going through some very difficult times. I am no longer in the Nashua area and I am sorry that I did not keep up with Steve. I remember the time I spent with him fondly. My condolences to you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear that Steve died, he was a great friend. I remember when he and your mother would come to Vermont. Steve would come with his buddy and take me on his boat. It was a joy to welcome them to South Hero. I always knew he would come in August and stay at Camp Skyland. What a blessing it was to have Steve as a friend, I will miss him. Thank you for getting in touch with me. Thinking of you all in these difficult times.

On behalf of my family to yours, our deepest sympathy for your loss. Steve was such a wonderful person and had the best recipe for what we lovingly call Mr. Rogers Tea cookies. Forever in our hearts.

Steve and I both served the Cranston R.I. YMCA at different times in our early Y careeers and then moved on to NH YMCA assignments in the late 60s/early 70s and developed a programatic bond that we shared for decades. Steve was The Salt Of The Earth and a Passionate Hands On Professional Always Committed To Kids. The corporate latter had no alure for Steve .... Assign me to kids and let me Do My Thing in the swimming pool or in any other Y assignment. That is why I bonded with Steve and thought he was one of THE BEST ROLE MODELS and FRIEND that any kid could love and adore. Old School and HANDS On To The End. Rest In Peace. YOUR Home In Heaven Awaits your Arrival as does your wife.

I was sorry to hear of Steve's passing. In the early 90's I coached the First Church basketball team that was part of the Y's church league, that Steve was in charge of. He was very helpful to us coaches and keeping the league organized, but he always looked after the best interests of the kids. Thank you Steve for your service to your country (particularly in an also forgotten war) and your service to the Nashua community, especially the kids.
