Theresa Dorothy (Hart) Paradise, 81, of Merrimack, widow of Gerard L. Paradise, passed away Monday evening, August 1, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
Born in Milford, NH on October 1, 1934, Mrs. Paradise was raised and educated in Nashua. An Air Force veteran, Theresa served for three years with the Medical Corps as a nurse’s aide in El Paso, Texas during the Korean War. After the war, she returned to Nashua and was employed for a time at St. Joseph Hospital and Nashua Memorial Hospital.
Theresa and her husband Jerry were married on February 28, 1959 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merrimack. The couple made their home in the Reed’s Ferry section of Merrimack for many years and shared 47 years together until Jerry’s passing on September 26, 2006. Theresa was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and held membership in the American Legion Post 98 of Merrimack.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Theresa is survived by her five children, Linda Robinson and her husband Warren of Manchester, David Paradise and his wife Pam of Florida, Gail Paradise of Manchester, Vicki Sarcione of Jaffrey and Kris Paradise and his wife Shannon of Nashua; six grandchildren, Bryan, Ceria, Joseph, Joshua, Gabrielle and Giovanni; a brother, Albert Hart; a sister, Gloria Hart; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by two brothers, Sonny and Gordon Hart.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, Thursday, August 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Last Rest Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall.
