Victoria S. Tamposi

Tamposi, Victoria

Victoria S. Tamposi passed away peacefully on August 5, 2018 after a decades long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Vicki was born on October 8, 1965 and lived most of her life in Nashua, although she loved to travel and never passed up an opportunity to see foreign lands or visit her many friends throughout the States.

Things happen in our lives that are outside of our control, there are those who endure incredible trauma and pain, yet they still shine, they find meaning from their hardships and their experiences; Vicki did just that.

Vicki was diagnosed with MS just as she graduated college from UNH in 1987. While the awful disease kept her from living what most of us consider a normal life, she never let it dominate her soul. Vicki was gifted with unimaginable optimism about life and a spirit that affected everyone who knew her and helped care for her. Her positive attitude towards life was at times baffling, but always incredible to witness, and was matched with a wonderful wit and sense of humor. Whenever we visited Vicki, she would radiate a huge smile, waive us over with her hand in the air like a queen, and would always give a heartfelt thank you for every visit. She was grateful and expressed it often and generously.

Few people who came to know Vicki walked away unchanged by her amazing perspective. One recent example of this was when she was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2012 and upon hearing the news from the physician expressed sympathy to him in having to deliver that diagnosis to her (yeah – she actually apologized to the doctor!), then she turned to me and stated that she would beat it; and she did. She fought like a champion through all these years, kept getting up when life knocked her down, and always had a joke or a bit of sarcasm to help straighten the curves in her road. We will miss her dearly, but like many others in our lives, will carry a bit of her with us forever. Rest in peace, Slick, we love you.

Victoria is survived by her brother Peter N. Tamposi, and his wife, Heather Tamposi, and their two children, Nick and Grace, her sister Nanci Curry and her husband David Curry and their children Tori and Michael and a half-sister Trudy Glefke. She is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins. Vicki was predeceased by her father, Nicholas Tamposi and mother Meredith Tamposi, who was her best friend and life-long companion.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday, August 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. Private interment will take place in Edgewood Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the FARWELL FUNERAL SERVICE. (603) 882-0591. www.farwellfuneralservice.com

I knew Vikki from Hampton Beach back in the early 80’s. She was one of the sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever met to this very day. Even though we were just kids she had a lasting personality in my memory. I’m so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful person inside and out. May you Rest In Peace Vikki ! ❤️

Vicki was a beautiful person inside and out. I met Vicki at Birch Hill Elementary and was her classmate and friend throughout all the years. I'm very proud and at the same time not surprised by how she handled and carried herself over 30 years with the disease. Vicki made a difference in this world and touched the hearts of so many people. Rest in Peace, Vicki!!

I remember Vicky from Elm St. Junior High; she attended Elm St. the same time I did (1977-1980) and I knew her a little bit, though not well. I am so sorry to hear what she went through, and what her family must be suffering now. I wish everyone the best.

I thought of Vickie recently and wondered how long she survived through her MS. I do not use Facebook so am not in touch with our oldest friends. Googling her name brought me to this page - I knew Vickie in Marin CA & as this obit states she was such a shining light - that infectious smile! I think of the many wonderful dancing sisters we've lost - Vickie I hope you and Quincy & Donna are all dancing with Jerry - save us a spot up front!!!

Growing up with Vicky, I never did anything but laugh and smile whenever I hung out with her. So beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside. I’ll never forget her and I’ll miss her every day.

As the wife of Vicki's cousin, I spent only a handful of occasions with her, but was always amazed at her indefatigable smile, sense of humor and positive attitude. Heaven only knows where she found the strength to endure such unexpected and ongoing challenges in her life, more than most of us will ever have to bear, but she did it with grace and style, a shining example to us all. Love and condolences to all the family.

Some people come into your live and make an impact that lasts long after the initial meeting, Vicki was all that and then some! I had become friends with many of Vicki's friends, the saying any friend of Vicki's is a friend of mine is so true. The Nashua contingent has a special place in my memory We saw many concerts and took some memorable road trips through the eighties. Her smile, compassion and humor are what will stay with me forever. May all our circles be unbroken! Slick, I will keep you in my heart and soul forever

Even though, it has been some time since Vicki & I corresponded - She always lives in my memory & heart. Through the challenging years of high school into adult maturation... The semester spent at Santa Cruz ,( coming to California, where I have made my home). Vicki will always be a wonderful sister to me . I am priveledged to have had a visit with her 4 years ago. It was grueling getting to Nashua from the rest of the world. Seeing her made the trip worthwhile- Rest well my friend.

Your beautiful obituary describes Vicki exactly as my pet therapy partner and I saw her in each of our visits. She was always so gracious and sweet, a bright spirit who showed appreciation for the littlest of things with her warm smile. My sincere sympathy to Vicki's family.

My heart goes out to the family and friends on your loss. The pain of losing a loved one is great and the survivors deal with this sometimes for years. Even our Lord Jesus dealt with loss of his dear friend Lazarus you can read it at John chapter 11. There you will find not only the condition of those we have lost but also the hope that can stay with us for the future when Jesus was given the authority and power to resurrect. I hope this brings you a measure of comfort. Once again my deepest sympathies.

I am so saddened to hear the news of Vicki’s passing. I used to see her when I would visit my parents. My father, who we just lost in June, used to always make a point of going over to say hello to her when he was on her floor. Please accept our sincerest condolences. May she rest peacefully.

Long time ago when Vicki was young she cheered for me and was a very beautiful child. Didn't really know her as she continued in life but feel that a child with such a beautiful heart would grow up and be a beautiful woman. She will be missed.
