All of us at the golf course are so saddened to hear of Walter’s passing. He made dreadful morning shifts something to look forward to. What started as a simple order of a small cup of coffee became so much more. We got to hear his stories and he never failed to ask us ours. Walter was the sweetest man and I’ll always cherish our conversations. Rest in the sweetest peace Walter we will miss you💕

This is so sad to hear. Walter will be missed by all in the snack shack at Green Meadow. We enjoyed Walter’s morning visits. He enjoyed a cup of coffee and always brightened our mornings. We put on his favorite TV morning show on and talked to all the golfers and staff like an old friend to everyone. We realized Walter wasn’t coming for coffee recently and found he was in the nursing home. We made signs saying “we miss you Walter” “mornings are not the same” “thank you for your service Walter” and “we love you Walter” but we didnt make it to see him :( Some day we will meet again Walter. A kind, gentle soul that graced our lives. You made us smile, Walter, and we will truly miss you. Rest in Peace our dear friend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Walter was my favorite face to see in the morning at Green Meadow. He always had a new story to tell us about his years as a pilot. I never once saw Walter without a smile on his face. He brightened all of our days every time we saw him. We were his “girls”, and he always made sure to let us know how grateful he was for us. I will always remember him with a coffee in hand. Walter will be dearly missed by all of us at Green Meadow.

Walter was such a great man and getting to know him for the last 3 years was an honor. I remember him coming in everyday and being able to sit and listen to his stories about his life over a cup of coffee. He knew the girls from GreenMeadow and listened to us and cared about what we wanted to do in life, I thought of him as family. Walter will always be very near and dear to my heart and he will be missed so much by me and all of the GreenMeadow staff. We love you Walter and you will always be in our hearts.

My daughter Alissa has worked at Greenmeadow for the last 3 years and loved Walter's visits, it really mad her morning. That was one thing she looked forward to when having a morning shift. The girls tried to visit him at Fairview but unfortunately they did not have his last name and Fairview couldn't release it. The news of Walters passing really hit the girls hard and they were all very saddened that they were not able to see him and let him know he was still on their minds. From how she talked about him, he sounded like a very special man. May he now fly eternally among the angels.
