William C. Holland, 75, of Nashua, died unexpectedly at his home, Monday, January 19, 2015.

     Born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on October 19, 1939 he was a son of the late William G. and Rita (Moran) Holland. He moved to Manchester, Connecticut at the age of three and then to Warwick, Rhode Island, where he grew up and graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School Class of 1958. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Holland joined the United States Navy, and was stationed in Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended the Naval Air Electronic School. In 1960 he was transferred to the NAS Jacksonville, Florida. He was then assigned to the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA-42nd Aircraft Carrier for a Mediterranean Cruise. Upon completion of five years in the US Navy (1958-1963), he was honorably discharged, and received further education at Lowell Technological Institute, where he majored in Electronic Engineering. In 1963, Mr. Holland was hired by Wang Laboratories, Inc. in Tewksbury, MA as Supervisor of Special Products, and then promoted to Assistant Export Manager.

      Beginning in 1968, he held key international marketing position s with Wang Laboratories (1968-1972). He was appointed Managing Director of Wang Laboratories (CANADA) Ltd in Toronto, Ontario where he and his wife Mary resided for two and a half years. Mr. Holland was then appointed International Sales Manager for Wang Europe S.A. in Brussels, Belgium. This position required extensive travel to all major countries in Europe. After residing in Canada and Europe for five years, Mr. Holland returned to Nashua, NH as Vice President of Wang International Trade, Inc., a subsidiary of Wang Laboratories Inc., Tewksbury, MA. In 1974, he was appointed Manager, International Sales/Operations with Centronics Data Computer Corporation (1975-1977). He was later employed by Data Electronics Inc. of San Diego, CA as District Sales Manager.

    In his leisure time, he enjoyed photography, skiing, sailing, painting and reading. However his greatest joy was spending time with his three daughters of whom he was most proud, and cherished grandson, Caleb.

    Members of his family include his wife of 48 years, Mary (Ford) Holland, whom he married on August 27, 1966; three daughters, Maureen Lemay and her husband Justin and their son Caleb of Nashua, Megan Holland of Medford, MA and Melissa Holland of Cleveland, OH; four sisters, Patricia Holland of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Judith Danforth and her husband Wayne of Medway, ME, Michaele Curtis of Laconia, NH and Stephanie Barnes and her husband John of Tarpon Springs, FL; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to gather at the church. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Friends wishing to express their sympathy are welcome to send flowers or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
