William Robert Thomas, 80, of Nashua, NH for many years, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA after a period of declining health.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1940, he was a son of the late Ivor A. and Gertrude (Wheeler) Thomas. “Bill” grew up in Elmira, New York and graduated from Elmira High School Class of 1958. He enlisted into the US Air Force in September of 1958 and served until his honorable discharge in February 1962.
Bill began his career as a State Trooper in New York and continued working in law enforcement after moving to Nashua. He later attended nursing school and became a registered nurse.
In his leisure time, Bill was a licensed pilot and loved flying out of the Nashua Airport He also was a fan of the New England Patriots.
Bill was the husband of the late Raymonde M. (Dusseault) Thomas, whom he married in June 1963 and shared over 55 years together until her passing on December 3, 2018.
Members of his family include his three children, William R. Thomas Jr., Kelley L. Lepicier and her husband David, and Kathy Thomas; five grandchildren, Brandon Thomas and his wife Amber, Amanda (Thomas) Ennist and her husband Matt, and Sunayana, Zachari and Samantha Lepicier; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Jackson and Maddison Thomas; a brother, Senior Pastor Frank Thomas and his Viola of Kirkville, NY; sister-in-law, Marsha Thomas of Elmira, NY; nieces and nephews, Junior Pastor Frank Lee Thomas, Stacie Hutchings and her husband Ken, Michael Thomas and his wife Pam, Patrick Thomas and his wife Joanie (Gannon) Thomas, Cindi (Thomas) Scott and Marjorie (Thomas) MacDonald and her husband Rob; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and his beloved dogs, Marshall and Zoey. Besides his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Ivor E. “Butch” Thomas; and granddaughter, Sarah Rae Thomas.
